Savvas Metaxas started playing the electric guitar in various groups before forming ‘Good Luck Mr. Gorsky’. Better acknowledged for his work as ‘inverz’, he gradually shifted to the use of analog and modular synths and field-recordings as sound tools, rather than instruments. He co-runs Granny Records label from Thessaloniki.

Inverz είναι το project του κιθαρίστα των Good Luck Mr. Grosky, Σάββα Μεταξά. Χρησιμοποιώντας ακουστικές και ηλεκτρικές κιθάρες, synthesizers, ήχους ηχογραφημένους από το καθημερινό αστικό περιβάλλον ή και εκτός του, samples κομμένα από δίσκους, κασετόφωνα και άλλα, ο Inverz δημιουργεί μοναδικά ηχοτόπια.

Ο δίσκος “My Machines”, αποτελεί την τέταρτη -συνολικά- κυκλοφορία του, δεύτερη μέσω του label της Granny Records. Σε αυτήν την πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα δουλειά, ο Inverz εστιάζει στη συλλογή, επεξεργασία και αναπαραγωγή ήχων από παλιούς δίσκους βινυλίου, οι οποίοι στη συνέχεια συνδυάζονται με  ηχητικά δείγματα “τραβηγμένα” τόσο από μουσικές όσο και από μη-μουσικές πηγές. Το αποτέλεσμα που προκύπτει είναι ένας ιδιαίτερα σκοτεινός και ατμοσφαιρικός δίσκος, τον οποίο θα παρουσιάσει το Σάββατο 10 Μαρτίου, στη Knot Gallery.

Inverz - Variations on hold

Inverz, from Thessalonica , Greece is one of the most active underground musicians in Thessalonica. Being a member of Good Luck Mr. Gorsky, Egg collective etc. seems to be of no importance, since in variations on hold Inverz presents his own version of music. This album combines Fennez’s sound with the melancholy of the decaying urban scenes. A guitar feedback mixed with genial electronic tricks, which at times can be a really husky production like in the song "Ihni", make up quite a claustrophobic atmosphere.
