What makes you so special?
What have you done man
Aaron Paul was voice acting his heart out and I fear the animation didn’t quite convey the intensity of his emotions
Interesting that the show took Powerplex from, "idiot that got his own family killed because he can’t see that he's his own worst enemy" in the comic, and made him into, “Hey, remember how dumb like, 90% of the criticism for Man of Steel is?”
Ben schwartz and aaron paul voice acting at eachother, huge day for annoying people
Watching this episode, more specifically this scene, stoned out of my mind for the first time was such a memorable experience.
Had to pause the episode for a minute to recoil from the multitude of title cards.
Low key. I need her bad
Flash-Light (lore n shit)
REAL NAME: Rebecca "Becca" Rains
AGE: 23 (around the same age as Powerplex)
ALIGNMENT: Neutral good
SPECIES: Enhanced Human
OCCUPATION: superhero (previously scientist)
REF SHEET:
BACKSTORY: Originally a scientist in the same lab as Scott Duvall, Rebbeca Rains was born without powers , but rather gained them along the way. While experimenting with a renewable energy source, something went wrong (because of course it did). As she tried to fix it, the energy core exploded, leaving Becca with third degree burns on her arms and the core fused into her chest. Somewhere whilst being treated in the hospital, she gets a visit by Cecil Stedman who acknowledged the fact that she tanked a point-blank explosion to the face and lived. He gave her a business card with his number on it, just in case she might need it for later. After the treatment was over and she left home, she immediately began to notice something was off. The way her skin and core reacted to the sunlight, it felt... Comforting in a strange way. One day though, she decided to run an experiment on herself, going outside in her backyard and setting up a training dummy with a bunch of boards and a pillow, punching it with increasingly more strength. After a minute, she began to breathe heavily, but kept going until she punched straight through the pillow. The second she removed her fist from it, she noticed she actually burn a hole through it, a small bit of smoke coming from her fist as it glowed vaguely. The next day, she was late for work, but seconds before the door closed, she ran just a little faster and didn't stop breathing, not even noticing she was moving at a fraction of the speed of light, making it in on time and wanting her to discover more about these powers she has. She designed a costume, got someone to realize it and she got out, fighting crime and what not while learning how her powers work.
PERSONALITY: Rebecca's personality can be best explained as a jumbled up Rubik's cube. She loves to poke fun at her opponents when fighting them, but she also has a soft spot for people who have suffered immense pain. While she loves to have fun with her superhero hobby, she also cares about not losing her job which she's dangerously close to. She also had a strange crush on Powerplex for a little while, but never realized it until the Invincible War happened and she saw this.
POWERS: Rebecca's powers are drawn from natural light. Over the day, she absorbs the sun's energy just by being in it and holding it in the core on her chest. this energy would remain in her body until she released it either into her gauntlets for combat or into her boots for super speed. She can also use her powers for both, but this takes up a lot of energy to do that which is why she either uses one or the other. In addition, while using a lot of energy, her eyes, skin and even hair glow a bright golden color.
TL;DR: imagine her as a living, breathing battery (get it? Cause she's "Flash-Light)
