Meeting of the Like Minded
Tony had spent more than half his day in his lab, fixing up the suit from his latest run. He’d been tossed around, a few minor cuts and bruises but nothing too bad. There was about another good run he could get out of that suit before scrapping it and using it to fix up the next one when that was damaged.
But his back hurt and he was feeling cramped. He needed a walk. Maybe some food. When had he eaten last?
He only allowed himself maybe half a can of soup, knowing nausea would kick in sooner or later. Due to anxiety or withdraws he wasn’t sure, but wondering was half the fun.
Exiting the kitchen he saw a few new faces, one of which was surrounded by tools and what looked like some radio parts. Curiosity got the best of him, despite the growing sick feeling in his stomach.
He walked over, glancing over all the parts.
“So. What’s going on over here? Looks interesting.” The kid (he was an adult but to Tony he was a kid) was scrawny as all hell, but there was something about him. “Tony Stark.” He introduced himself.
The familiar voice interrupted his thoughts and Peter looked up. He’d managed to finish about half his food, he needed time before he could eat the rest even if he looked like he should be scarfing it down. So he’d been using the time to tinker and distract himself into slowly finishing the nutrition his body badly needed.
“Doctor Stark,” he blinked for a moment before looking down at his self appointed task. “Oh this? I managed to boost the range the hand unit could receive a signal - which is how I knew to head here by the way. I was fiddling to see if I couldn’t boost the transmission as well.” He waved a hand in explanation pointing with the small screwdriver in his hand to various parts in the open unit. “Power seems to be the main problem. So I was trying to do a bit of tweaking to make it more efficient.”
He’d let his brain ramble on in part to hide the slight bit of nerves. Plus it being part of his nature. Talking yet another way to disguise and misdirect. “Oh, um I’m Peter, Peter Parker. My brain was running a bit and tinkering tends to calm it down.
