I actually have a headcanon I posted in a discord server that’s relevant here!
Reed is autistic! He is undiagnosed, but has found a multitude of coping mechanisms on his own - avoiding touch of others, his soundproofed lab, stimming by tugging at and stretching his fingers. Grounds himself occasionally by wrapping a limb around a stationary object in a "python grip"
Other symptoms: Hyperfocuses on whatever invention hes on at the time. Inability to process social cues with much degree of accuracy. Strong tendency to seek out "the familiar." Avoids eye contact in most cases.
