my finished piece for the Invisible Ties Chrobin Fanzine! 🥰💕
I absolutely loved your piece in the Lodestar zine! You did a fantastic job adapting Awakening to a science fiction setting.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! 💖 I had a blast with it, trying to keep the core of Awakening and the events while modifying them to fit with a sci-fi world -- I actually feel like it's one of the best pieces I've ever written!
Anyone else that wants to take a look, you can get the zine here!

Chapter 12
I was nervous, trying to keep myself from fidgeting too much. Aro had been… well... I honestly think he was planning things too perfectly. After dinner the night before, and his odd need to hold my hand constantly, he has been sending me little things throughout the night. I had gone to bed early, wanting to rest up before our planned day and when I woke up, I was surprised with flowers everywhere and a cute little bear on my bed. I would have just passed it off as Aro being sweet but the flowers… well, they were my favorite flowers.
Lilies.
And lots of them.
And since then, the gifts were becoming more frequent. I had done my morning routine of a shower and all that, only to step out and find a simple sun dress on my bed. And a little white hat. Then, after I was dressed, another box was brought to my room. I was quick to want to deny the gift but I was told that they had to leave the box or Aro would be extremely upset. So, I took the box, placing it on the bed unopened. I would need to talk to him about this need to splurge on me. I didn’t need anything and this was becoming ridiculous. What do I do with all the flowers?!
“Lady Alessandra?”
I jumped, turning on my heel to spot one of the guards standing at the door. I never once heard them knock, which also reminded me of the situation I was in. I was surrounded by vampires that could easily overpower me if they so choose to do so. But I also knew that one of my mates would destroy them if they tried. Still not a comforting thought.
“Yes?”
“The master has asked that I come and collect you,” Demetri, if I remember his name right, told me. I didn’t like his wording but I wasn’t going to say anything about that.
“Oh, okay. Um, ready when you are?” I flinched, not liking how that sounded so much like a question. But the more I thought on this, the more I realized that I was having doubts. Did I not sleep well? Were these doubts telling me that something was going to happen? I just don’t know anymore.
“Come. He is waiting,” Demetri bowed toward me, waving his hand toward the door. I nodded, quick to head out the door toward wherever Aro was. It was odd though, having someone escort me. Really, this whole situation was odd. Why would three insanely beautiful men want anything to do with me? I was just a normal girl. Well, besides the invisibility. But I just don’t understand how three men… three vampires were mated to me. Did it have to do with my personality? Did they have something that I myself lack? So many questions and just not enough answers.
“Alessandra, my love!”
“Hello, Aro,” I greeted him, forcing a smile. But I could tell he caught on quick to that, noticing that his own fell from his face the moment I spoke. My fake smile probably didn’t even reach my eyes, which was normally a dead give away as well.
“What is the matter, amore? Did you not sleep well?” Aro was quick to cup my face, his thumbs brushing over my cheeks. I found myself unable to answer quickly, just staring up into his eyes as if I could find my answers in them. However, I was surprised by Aro’s sudden attention, as if he knew what was plaguing my mind. As if his gift was able to reach through the barrier of mine to read my most plaguing thoughts. It was rather unsettling to think of… but also comforting.
“I’m not sure,” I finally answered, heaving a sigh when Aro placed an arm around my waist. His free hand had gripped mine, bringing it to his lips immediately as if that would provide the comfort I needed. It didn’t, of course. Just merely made me wonder what it is that he knew for him to act so sweet and understanding. Aro was the type to keep many secrets.
“Come, my dear, let’s get you some fresh air. Perhaps you’ve been inside too long,” Aro motioned for me to go forward, not once giving me a chance to refute his offer. But at the same time, I rather agreed with his decision. I have been kept cooped up to long, inside a stuffy old castle. Perhaps a moment to breathe some real air would be beneficial to my brain.
Stepping out into the sun, I immediately sighed in relief as the light hit my skin. My eyes fluttered closed in bliss, breathing in the air that had an odd sickly sweet scent. It was only when I opened my eyes did I realize that the reason for the scent was the garden I was being escorted too. The amount of colors was nearly overwhelming yet calming, bright and full blooms all around. I was rather grateful now for the hat because the sunlight would have truly overpowered my senses. But even then, nothing compared to the sight that came next when I turned toward Aro.
I froze, openly staring at the man beside me. I had thought the sunlight was the brightest light around but it was nothing compared to the glow coming from Aro. I mean, vampires sparkled in the light. They didn’t burst into flames like the common myths and with Edward, I had a habit of asking him if he showered in body glitter. But Aro… body glitter was not the term to use. It was as if the sparkles were more refined, as if there was a dusting of tiny diamonds on his skin.
I was fascinated as well. There was no way to deny that as I reached out, fingertips lightly caressing his cheeks down to his jawline. The contrast of what you would assume to be a bumpy surface to the actual smooth skin really messed with you. Even the shadow of my hand seemed to gain my attention, how it dulled the shine. It was just so fascinating, so many questions…
My fingers paused over his lips, eyes frozen as I noticed the smile that curved them. It was only then did I allow them to break from the stare, slowly matching the eyes of the true ruler of the Volturi. Though the three shared power, Aro was the one who truly wielded it. Even though he really didn’t need that much power, it added to his appeal as a man. And I could only imagine the secrets he held, the thoughts he has read and the history he knew.
“You have a lifetime, my love, to learn all I know,” Aro whispered to me, his teeth suddenly latching onto the tip of my finger. I gasped, eyes growing wide as I realized what Aro had said. I wondered if I spoke aloud as Aro suddenly lead me to a gazebo. I was taken aback by what awaited me. There was a buffet of sorts awaiting me, multiple pasties and fruits decorating a serving table. I found myself at a loss for words as I noticed that a lot of the foods were my favorites. And it only seemed to solidify my suspicions.
“But my gift… how did you…” my words faded as I turned to Aro, the obvious question dancing in my eyes. Aro chuckled lowly, sitting on the outdoor couch that was nearby. The gazebo literally looked like an outdoor living room and it was slowly becoming my most favorite place in the whole castle.
“It would seem, my darling, that your gift fluctuates,” Aro started, a devilish glint in his eyes. “I noticed it last night when I collected you for dinner. My touch flooded me with all your thoughts, as if a part of you wished for me to know.”
“So all of this… you did this?”
“Why of course, my love. Why would I not?” Aro tilted his head, his face devoid of any emotion except that of joy. Which was slowly beginning to unnerve me. Did he not have any other emotion except being sickly sweet?
“Come now dear. Let’s relax and enjoy the weather. No duties, no stuffy dark rooms,” a smile stretched his lips, amusement dancing in those devilish eyes. He was playing with my desires, knowing that I had secretly been complaining about being locked up in the castle. My time with the Cullens never seemed like I was trapped. Their home was always so open and airy. The Volturis’ was dark and stuffy…
“Okay!” I clapped my hands, having made up my mind. He was right. I should just enjoy this little moment. Even if Aro was giving me a knowing smirk, telling me that he knew about my doubts. But right now, I wasn’t going to dwell on it because all that food was beginning to look delicious!
~XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX~
My head in his lap and my mouth wide open, I was desperately trying not to laugh as Aro held a grape high above his head. We had spent hours it seemed out here, ignoring everyone that tried to come and crash the little party. Even Bella came to visit once but was quick to leave when she noticed that I was laying with my head in Aro’s lap, like now, and Aro was feeding me. She was embarrassed by what she saw, but I didn’t care. I was relaxed and happy for once.
Aro released the grape, it landing in my mouth. I quickly squealed in excitement, clapping my hands before I turned into a fit of giggles. Aro chuckled at me, his fingers quickly running through my hair as we just sat in comfortable silence. And we did remain that way. Silent the entire time. But it was as if I didn’t need to say a word, Aro picking up on nearly everything I wanted. He was even the one to instigate me laying across the couch, using his lap as a pillow. Plus, his body was ice cold. Which helped balance the heat of day. So yeah, I definitely wasn’t uncomfortable or even worried. It was a really nice reprieve actually.
“Oh, I don’t want this day to end,” I stretched, raising my arms up high before going fully limp again in his lap. I heard Aro chuckle, his fingers still combing through my hair. It would seem he agreed with me, for he didn’t stop the movement of his fingers.
“Would you wish to remain only with me then, mia amore?” Aro asked, one of his cheeky grins on his face. I scoffed at the idea, sitting up immediately. Of course he would try to inflate his own ego. Tell the others that I wanted him more than them. Cheeky bastard.
“Of course not. Caius and Marcus are apart of this deal, are they not?” I turned to face him, bringing my legs up to curl under me. He really didn’t think this whole thing through but I could tell he was amused by my outburst. Even I was surprised by my eagerness to debate and prove him wrong.
“Of course they are, Alessandra. But surely I am the better of the two,” Aro was baiting me, testing my reaction to his words. And I didn’t disappoint, immediately hatching a plan in my head to goat him as well. I needed to understand Aro’s needs. How far he would take things. Test the boundaries, so to speak. Caius was not patient and highly sexual, that much I knew. Marcus was very slow and gentle, willing to wait for me to make a move. Aro… he was the mystery. And I needed to bait him in return.
“I don’t know. Caius is an expert kisser,” I started, keeping my expression blank. I could see Aro heisitate at my words, meeting my gaze as I continued, “Marcus would be a pleaser. Slow and deliberate, ensuring that I was enjoying my time with him. Probably with anything I desired.”
“And where does that leave me?” Aro kept the smile on his face but I could see straight through him. He probably never had to fight for affection so this was bothering him. They may be able to share me but that didn’t mean it would be easy. And I think Aro, through all the façade, was struggling with sharing the most.
“I don’t know. I have the vampire with the experience with things wild, the caretaker who would make me happy… I’m not sure where you fit,” I teased openly. Aro didn’t seem to like my answer as his hands landed on my hips, effectively moving me to straddle his lap. I bit my tongue, hiding the laugh that threatened to bubble out.
“Do you think I would be unable to please you in any way, darling?” I heard the growl, felt lips ghost over my throat to my ear. I sighed, letting my head fall back in order to give him better access. And I was rather surprised that it didn’t take long to push him. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew what I was doing from the beginning. Aro did enjoy his games.
“I never said you couldn’t,” I gasped as his teeth scraped at my pulse, his tongue darting out to taste my flesh. I quickly cupped his face with my hands, stopping him from continuing to tease me. At least until he took over, quickly sealing his lips with mine. My brain immediately stopped functioning, my body pushing closer to him. I could feel his answering growl in his chest, feel it reverberating in my chest. It wasn’t until I needed to breathe did I finally lean away from him, gasping for air. At least until I realized we were out in the open and I really didn’t want anyone to see us like this, even if Aro was trying to distract me from it.
“You said you could read me yes?” I tried to lower the tension, distract us both from what we were doing. Seriously, I was making out with the head leader of the Volturi. I really needed to cool my head, not let them cloud my mind. But I was slipping to the dark side. No doubt about that.
“Your gift fluctuates but essentially, yes, I can,” Aro groaned against my throat, his hands traveling up my back before coming to halt. He was trying to hold back. It was obvious.
“Then perhaps that is who you are,” I whispered, stilling my body against his. The only thing moving was my chest, my breathing slowing back to a normal pace.
“You’re my reader. You read my thoughts, know the secrets I am too afraid to tell anyone. I can trust you, tell you what’s bothering me, and not struggle with verbal words. So perhaps, you Aro, are my greatest comfort.”
“Such a poet,” Aro smiled, obviously pleased with my words. But it was true. I wouldn’t have to worry about telling anyone what is wrong. Aro could find that out and quickly correct whatever it was that I was struggling with. It was also difficult to explain sometimes too, my anxiety getting the best of me. And that was a true comfort.
“Though, you never mentioned what type of lover I would be,” again he teased, still holding me close in his lap. I just giggled, giving him a sweet kiss before sliding off him.
“Perhaps you need to wait and see if I ever decide what you’ll be,” I laughed at his disappointed face. But it didn’t take long before I regretted that decision, squealing when Aro decided to chase me. Though I did not mind being chased at all. I wasn’t in danger and honestly, I was having too much fun to care.
Perhaps I was beginning to accept this bond. And for once, I was happy with that. Truly happy.
hello tumblr, it's been a while guess i'll slowly catch up on posts for now, here's some ocs
Long Time No See
So...
Hello...
Been a long time. And I will apologize for disappearing. My life has been a bit, hectic to say the least. Lots of changes over the years.
So besides moving states and finding myself, I'm giving an update.
I have gotten married. Helped my husband move into the country from Australia, and recently had a baby. Who also was born 3 months early and spent 107 days in NICU.
Reason I'm posting. I have decided to try writing again. That is my new years resolution. To at least post a new update for at least 1 story per month. It's been a rough few years with Immigration and baby, but hopefully I can go back into what I use to do.
So forgive me. And let's see if yall can have your long awaited update.
Thanks yall.
