So I was harvesting corn and somehow this guy attached to my arm and then stung me so bad! Turns out it's the Io Moth caterpillar and it has urticating hairs all over its body. Urtica is the Latin name for nettles - and this stings just like them - it embedded these stinging hairs in my arm and gave me a raised irritated rash. #Automerisio #iomoth #iocaterpillar #stingingcaterpillar (at Newtown Square, Pennsylvania)
