If he had the capacity to, what message would Caspar send to his past self, if any?

don’t eat that bar of chocolate and strawberry scented soap bro, it smells amazing but i promise you it doesn’t taste even half as good

truthfully, there isn’t any message caspar could think to send to himself. he wouldn’t easily come up with that answer himself, in fact he would mull over it for several days or more, stressing out because if you can only send one message, it has to be a good one, right? you have to be careful with these kinds of things, cause you don’t know what you’ll be changing. does he have regrets? sure! who doesn’t. does he have stuff he wishes he didn’t do? definitely! but in the end, anything he sends has the potential to change who he is at the point that he decides what to send. 

for all his flaws, for all the terrible things he’s been involved in, the harder days, the good days, he’s quite happy with where he’s turned up, how he’s turned out. besides, he barely ever listens to the better judgement of other people now, never mind when he was younger and being told what to do by his own self. screw that guy!

      bernadetta would run were she not so stiffly frozen in fear.  to accidentally bump into someone known as the king of grappling is surely a crime punished by death alone.  it’s such a late evening hour too, the perfect hour to commit such an act.  he’s probably furious, he likely thinks her detestable !  he’d be right, she’s nothing but a bother, and he could get rid of her in one fell swoop.  though her mouth hangs agape, she is desperate for words to protest her innocence, but all she manages are meek little stutters that barely pass as coherent.  so this is how it ends...

    “not exactly very inspiring, are you?” were it not for the champion grin and a warmth in his eyes that could melt the iciest of hearts, you could be forgiven for thinking that this lot is something of genuine criticism. caspar loops his arm around nero’s neck and hauls him closer. “i dunno buddy, it almost sounds like you don’t wanna spend valentine’s with me. which is a shame, cause i’mma spend it with you whether you like it or not!”

Looking back on the wreckage of her once-perfect life, Lusamine could trace all the unraveling, every bit of it, back to one particular snag: the creature, Cosmog, falling to the laboratory floor in a flutter of research notes. There were days she viewed her life as teeming with enemies-- her acquaintances, friends, children, the earth’s very fauna (and her own blood, and her own venomous, clawing hands), all conspiring against her from the very beginning to ruin her-- but it had all begun with the creature, stealing Mohn away in a blaze of blinding light.

Time and again, it granted her hope and tore it away again; no matter how much she prodded or cut into it, it refused to yield. Years later, it stole Lillie, and when at last she found a place she could be happy, surrounded only by her loves, it found a way to take that from her too, striking her with a beam of light that rent her in two and dragging her back to where she was alone.

The sight of the creature would have been startling enough in a sound state of mind. Now it is nightmarish. Lusamine’s face, etched with exhaustion, takes on fresh horror as she tries to scramble back away from it, clumsy with weakness.

(What is it doing here, looking at her? Was it not enough to take from her everything– now it’s come to humiliate her as well? Or perhaps, at last, it’s here to finish her off…)

It watches. Finally, hours of distress and years of misplaced resentment pour out of her in the form of a snarl. “What–! What is it that you want, you–! Hideous creature…!”
