The opinion on Ionova's Gulnare debut that nobody asked for: I think she was great! She was meant to be a Romantic ballerina. Of the recent grads, nobody, not Savelieva or Khiteeva, with their gorgeous arms, can beat her in the Romantic style. She has that lightness that just brings life to every Chopiniana and other Romantic stuff that she dances. Even though don't think she'd be a good Zarema or Zoibede like Bulanova, I think happy classical roles like Gulnare and Maria are good for her.

Vaganova Ballet Academy graduate (class of Professor Lyudmila Kovaleva, 2018), Daria Ionova has debuted in the Mariinsky’s "The Young Lady and the Hooligan" opposite Evgeny Konovalov.
This popular Soviet ballet was created in 1962 in Leningrad, to the music of Shostakovich. It’s a story about the turbulent time after the October revolution, and a bad boy falling in love with a good girl. - Mariinsky Facebook
