It was a few days past the opening of the new Cathedral in Daath, and many visitors were beginning to arrive.
Ion hobbled down the hall from the reading room where he had just finished giving a reading of the Score. Even after the war had ended, some people still relied on the Score for guidance, and others still found the tiniest glimpse into their future, even if eventually proven untrue to be fascinating. Some people even used it to change their fate...
Ion had gotten through his usual preaching of a new way of life just fine, stating that one should live with the Score as a helpful guide or a hint, but be not bound by it as law. But, like always, when he began to read the actual Score he felt tired and weak. Anion took over for the next reading, and Ion allowed himself some time to rest.
As he passed by the Cathedral doors, however, he was startled by a few familiar faces.
"General Frings!" Ion exclaimed. He hurried over to their guest, hands clasped in front of him as if in prayer. "Sir, I haven't seen you in so long! I'm happy to meet you again! Did you come to listen to The New Score?"
"Guy!" Ion exclaimed, feeling a bubble of happiness well inside his chest. He hadn't seen his old friend in some time, since he had begun to restorations on the Cathedral with his "brothers".
"I've missed you so much! How have you been?"
"Tear? Is that you? My goodness!" Ion exclaimed, splaying his hands out in excitement. "I was just thinking of you the other day! I wanted to learn how to sing one of your fonic hymns... could you teach me the words?"
