High school prom season is upon us, and, kids being kids, some will stay out longer than they’re supposed to, and sneak in trying not to awaken their parents. And do other things they’re not supposed to—you know, rites of passage things.

In my neighborhood, people put out unwanted things and clothing on their stoops for others to take—easier than taking them to Sallie’s. I saw these shoes, and made up a story which I think is appropriate for prom season.
