hey broadstripe
...You suck. So our ISP warned us several weeks ago that they were moving email away from Gmail and onto Wave. Okay, blah blah. As long as it works & you don't increase our rate, whattheheckever. Today I noticed no emails coming through. 99.95% of the time I check email on my iPhone. I don't get really important ones as a rule, but usually every morning my inbox is full of things from Etsy & GroopDealz & Joanna Gaines. Nothing. So I figured "the great migration" must have happened. Sure enough. Okay, so Broadstripe gave us all the new mail server settings & I updated my phone. Or so I thought. But it didn't work. Much digging around online and one massive headache later I discovered the problem. The phone still thought the platform was Gmail. So I had to create a new account, which is actually not a new account. Now all my mail & contacts are good, successful migration. I'm glad I had the wherewithal to back up my phone to iCloud before I started all this, because somehow in the process all my notes have been lost. First words of my youngest son's. Scripture and encouragement sent to me by my mentor/"big sister." Songs & stories I've started writing. Gone. Ohhhhh...they're not GONE, gone. They're on my backup. But restoring that backup did not bring them back to my iPhone. No, no. iOS 8.4 made sure people are losing notes in droves apparently. Sure, there are apps that will allow you to restore them. For about $50!!! Fifty dollars to bring back data that belongs to me anyhow. I. Am. Livid. Right now. Time to get groceries!
