Five iPad Mini tricks and secrets most of users don't know
1. How to select a paragraph
To select a paragraph you have to tap the paragraph 4 times in rapid succession. The options will appear. You will see the option to Copy the paragraph, Select All or Speak ( if you have the Speak option set up )
2. Use the status bar to reach the top !
Let’s say you are on the web page and you reach the bottom. What’s the quickest way to get to the top ? Not scrool, but hit the status bar one time and it automatically takes you to the top.
3. Create keyboard shortcuts
Let me show how to set this up. Navigate to Settings – General – Keyboard. Now, as you se, there are Shortcuts. Scroll down and select Add New Shortcut button. Let’s try something.
At Phrase let’s write ” Thank you for choosing iPad Mini Tricks, and at shortcut let’s type an shortcut like ” TCI “. Press Save button. And now, when you type an email and write TCI, and i get the full text there. Just press space to insert it into the email.
4. Split and undock your keyboard
Go to settings – General and right under International keyboards you’ll see an option Split keyboard. Make sure that is turned on. Now when you are ready to type, you are ready to split your keyboard.
5. How to change timezones
If you go out of town and you happened to find yourself into different timezone, you wanna make sure you appointments reflect the new time zone.
Go to Setting – go to Mail, Contact and Calendars – scroll down until you see Calendars – Time Zone Support, make sure that is On, and set the right Time Zone you you.

I think security is one of the most important things. You need to have a good security in case your iPad Mini is stolen or someone try to get into your iPad Mini and access your informations. You can increase your security level by to to Settings – General – Passlock and than simply turn on Passlock. Write your password ( for exemple 1111 ) and than press OK. Go back to Homescreen, lock the iPad Mini, than Unlock. You have to enter your password to access your menu.
Another way to increase your iPad Mini security is by download the Find My iPhone application. It is free and you can get it from App Store. Also set-up your iCloud as well, so you can log in into your iCloud. You will be able to set an voice message in case you lose the iPad in the house, you can also see where the iPad is located as long as it is online and you can send a message.
