IPC/WHMA-A-620 refer to the criteria that are acceptable for soldered, mechanically secured and crimped interconnections, as well as the corresponding restraining and lacing criteria related to harness and cable assemblies.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 training has been developed to assist users in becoming familiar with wire and cable harness fabrication basics.
The module is optional for both CIS and CIT. CITs wishing to teach a hands-on project would have to complete the extra one day course and complete all the project requirements.
The hands-on CIS training is modular and could be applied to any modular section of the CIS training. The lecture/discrimination module needs to be complete before the CIS candidate receives their certification. The CIS candidate would then only complete the section of the hands-on project that is applicable to the material covered.
