I went along with my brother in law and his family to visit a friend of theirs on a farm near patiala yesterday and the farmer showed us this shed. I was curious what purpose it served and he explained that this is his spiritual place, a place built with ancient tradition methods and used for reading the Guru Granth Sahib (sikh holy text). He’d work early in the morning till breaking point and instead of returning home to rest for a bit before heading back out, he comes here...to read, to pray. For me, hearing of his endurance, work ethic and steadfastness to desire to be closer to god was nothing short of inspiring!
