"I realized my love and penchant for event planning while at Illinois State University. I am now attending Olivet Nazarene University earning a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership and I am going into my third year as coordinator for the Sun River Terrace Summer Reading Program. The reading program is my way of giving back to my community and ensuring that the children in my neighborhood have a fun, safe and educational place to spend their summer and realize there are mentors and role models right in their community. I am currently researching, building a business plan and a team with which to start my own event coordinating business upon graduation from ONU."
How do you stay motivated?
The truth is, I don’t STAY motivated. My motivation wavers sometimes and I am ok with that. I realize that sometimes you need to relax and recharge. In those times, I reach out to people who inspire me and pour love their way. I’m not too proud to say, “Hey,I need some of your light today”.
What is your guilty pleasure?
SLEEP. I can lay down for hours on end and do nothing when there are a million things to be done.
What do you pledge?
iPledge2 “Do it with love”. Everything I do, I try to let love be the motive. Act out of love, speak out of love, pour love into every situation.
Any upcoming events?
I work at the public library in my community of Sun River Terrace, Il and am coordinating a Black History fair on the 21st of February.

How do you stay motivated?
My family drives my motivation; I have younger siblings who are watching all of my actions, good or bad, so it’s their caring eyes that help me stay on track of my goals.
What is your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasures are Zane books. I recently picked one up from my local library and tore through half the book the first day. I like a good mystery which she delivers, as well as a steamy story lol
What do you pledge?
I pledge to never accept a fall as a fail, to dream big and live humbly and to continue to be inspired and to inspire others.

F.L.Y. (Fiercely. Love. Yourself.) at Illinois State University is having a Natural Hair Expo/Fashion Show April 19th. This event will bring to life hair, fashion, music and a culture that needs celebrating. How do you stay motivated?
This is a great question! I find inspiration in lots of different things every single day!
Most of all I stay self motivated. My childhood wasn't that pleasant. I promised God and myself that if I made it to see my adulthood- I would give LIFE all I had. I promised myself I would live in heaven. I promised myself nice things and great relationships.
Now that I have matured in more ways than one, I realize that God wanted the samething for me the whole time.
That's enough to inspire me for years to come.
What is your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is hard work. I get lost in my work. I can go for 19 hours straight. I drink well and eat well so it does not take affect my immune system.
What do you pledge?
I pledge to put God First! I pledge to stay true to the very essence of my soul. I pray that my work is always seen in the light. I pledge to use my talents for the good. I pledge to continue to touch many lives across the world with the special gifts that God has granted me. I pledge to surround myself with like minds and lastly but most importantly, I pledge to give back to my community.
