Andy Mkosi’s NdineFeelings EP Reviewed by CJ
The Langa based rapper follows her "iPressure" mixtape that was dropped almost a year ago from now, with this follow up EP, and it's more of a hazy, spaced-out hip hop Andy Mkosi we've never seen before in. A two track with no features but sees her reach out to new produces namely Terra Nekro (House Producer, originally from Langa, now based in JHB) Sharlie Beanero, & Sampra. If you weren't convinced by her work rate already, this two track EP serves as more evidence for Andy's solid, quality output with a very impressive ear for sound that mashes with her aesthetic.
The EP starts off the crunching snares and the anthemic feel of "Set It Off" showcasing her newfound ability to switch her style so naturally, from the more mellow side to the straight up tripped out bangers is something to be admired, and she's convincing with it. With "Chakras" and the uplifting instrumental that has a heavy bassline and infectious synth lines provides the backdrop for Andy to talk to her fans about her lifestyle, and the lack of any kind of drums on the track make the message so much clearer, and this is definitely effective.
The project and its goal of the present study is to examine relationship and the lack of fulfillment she's received from them. Self-reported information about her preferences and experiences revealing what she'd ultimately like to receive from these said things. She is now developing a constant stream of releases, and the quality of the music matches up to her work ethic. This EP is another dope collection of tunes, showcasing Andy's diverse ear for beats, and her writing and flow are consistent. This is well worth checking.
