The International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival (IPRHFF)’s mission is to create platforms that allow a diverse pool of influencers in filmmaking to reach a broader audience. We develop programs that allow local and international filmmakers, from emerging artists to film industry veterans, to reach out to audiences throughout New York City and beyond. Our goal is to foster a collaborative environment for artists from all countries to explore issues inherent to the heritage of Puerto Rico, its diaspora, and explore stories relevant to the larger Latino community.

"The Oppossite Of Romance" will be screening tomorrow at 3pm at International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival -- if your not up to anything, come check us out -- Starring myself, Sandra Trujillo & Yerania Del Orbe. Written and shot in 48 hours, with a two man camera crew we are very proud to have been accepted into this festival and to be screening, twice, along side films that have premiered at some of greatest festivals in the world. LOS ANGELES, CA - New Slant Productions' thriller MAGDALENA was accepted to The International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. 

The IPRHFF Objectives

The IPRHFF wishes to build an appreciation for the presence and contributions of Puerto Ricans on the island, in the United States and across the globe.

The IPRHFF works to acknowledge the Puerto Rican community’s place in the history of New York City as the first Spanish speaking group to migrate & settle here and who’s pioneering efforts made it possible for other Caribbean & Latin Americans to do the same.

The IPRHFF seeks to maintain and display the richness of Puerto Rican cultural traditions, creative expressions, and contributions to the welfare and growth of the United States, especially within the context of other Latino contributions.

The IPRHFF supports traditionally Puerto Rican neighborhoods by realizing events that revitalize their economies and strengthen and extend their connection to the greater New York City community and beyond.

The IPRHFF creates self awareness: we seek to assist artists connect to the larger Puerto Rican community and serve as a catalyst for development through the arts and culture.
