The teenager had been out with his mother this evening, shopping with her at diagon alley. He was stuck in the book store, trying to get one of the books he needed for his next class. But--he supposed if he couldn’t get the book it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
That was the glorious thing about homeschooling. His professors were usually very good about doing whatever works well with him. Normally, wizards couldn’t home school, but, being a Potter usually helped pull difficult strings. After a year at Hogwarts, the younger Potter got pulled from the school when his parents found it wouldn’t get better for him. So they the enlisted many of their various friends and family and old professors to tutor the young Potter boy instead.
Albus preferred it; he was not good with other kids his own age, and he liked being at home all the time. His parents didn’t seem too pressured about keeping him home, either. They both agreed that with his social disorder as well as his lack of friends at school, keeping him at home was the best option.
Which is why when it came to social situations, his skills were less than that of a peer his age. His parents still kept him in his muggle psychologist, but otherwise he didn’t have too much pressure to meet new peers.
Albus reached for the book in the book store. It was a book from Newt Scamander, and he could feel another hand gripping what seemed to be the last copy in the store.
“Hey--I saw it first,” Albus mumbled to the person.
