Favorite Rebel Springs moment

I’m a day late but whatever. This week for @princeofbloodandgold IR countdown I’m actually talking about two moments because I love them both. Luckily tumblr will let me tag this week. So yeah, content below the cut

Yay kiss scene. So, story time. The first time I read this book I was honestly really nervous during this scene cause I though Ashur was gonna hurt Nic, and then all of sudden, he’s kissing him. And my brain interpreted this sudden change of mood as being absolutely hilarious. So I’m sitting in study hall, burst out laughing. They must have thought I was crazy. I mean more crazy than I actually am. Now, it’s like, this is the birth of a ship. This is where it started, and that’s cool. On to the next moment

Yay death scene! Normal people probably don’t List death scenes as their favorite, but Aron flipping deserved to die. He was a murderer and at least an attempted rapist. Magnus might not have found killing him satisfying, but I found reading it satisfying. I mean, does anyone actually even tolerate Aron? I’m pretty sure we all hate him.

Falling Kingdoms Highlight Reel

Eek it’s the last day of FK week for the IR countdown and I almost forgot to post this. I pulled a couple of my favorite lines and scenes from the book as I was rereading, including both stuff I liked the first time and stuff that struck me differently now that I’m rereading. It’s a little bit like liveblogging but instead of doing it as I went I’m doing it all at once now. I’m planning to do this for all five books, each during their respective week. :)

Prince of Sass (also, had totally forgotten about Tobias until rereading)

Boy Jonas is lucky he’s pretty, because he’s not getting anywhere with his words

Honestly I don’t remember what my reaction was to reading this the first time, but it probably wasn’t “lol, what a dork” like it was this time.

I had forgotten, amongst all his fumbling in the later books, that Jonas actually is pretty scary in the first book.

And really, is your character actually a ginger if their face doesn’t at some point turn as red as their hair?

Again, upon rereading, my response to this was “what a drama queen,” which is probably not what I was thinking the first time

Well, at least Jonas is self-aware

Reading anything Aron does ever also makes me want to vomit

Again, say what you will about Jonas, but at least he is self-aware

Honestly Magnus has all the best lines. Especially when he’s talking to Cleo

I think my favorite part about the first Falling Kingdoms book is just the fact that almost everyone is so happy. By Crystal storm most everyone is just angry and miserable. Which, understandable they have all been through a million things they didn’t deserve by that point. Except Aron and King Gaius who have deserved everything they got and more.
