hey, Merodii here! so back in late July this art came out for Aqours’ 2018 live and fanmeetings, and i was like:
“man! wouldnt it be cool if i made an IR redraw?” and it was a cool idea! this is my first digital drawing since i changed my artstyle and it took about a month in total with breaks of course. im super proud of the turnout but i was dying the entire time as ive never drawn 9 people in the one drawing before, AND a majority of these poses so please bear with me- ill also give a comparison of the original poster to the redraw as i had to change a few things for my sanity’s sake.
so here i will give you some of my IR subunits!!
Alex, Steel, and Tom form Sleepytrain!
Sleepytrain is a group made up of the three fucks who barely get any sleep and also have very weird humor. They are all based on roles of people on a train. Their meetings are average, but they rarely get anything done as everyone falls asleep.
Darby, Cami, and ChiChi form Beautiful◇Star!
Beautiful◇Star is the group in which these three just want to enjoy their time showing their love to the world and tho those they care about. they all have matching star lockets with a picture of who they care about the most inside. Their meetings are always very calm and they usually are able to give each person a chance to share ideas, but Cami can be pretty persistent on a certain idea.
Split, Xander, and Atwas form 2Mask!
2Mask is interesting to say the least. They’re the mischievous chill group who either cant stop memeing or yelling at eachother. Their meetings are always a mess but yet they can get things done when it comes down to it.
what do yall think? what kinda songs would everyone make if they were idols or somethin?
These are all extremely cute and it’s clear you’ve put a lot of thought into these Merodii! The poses, the expressions, the colors, it’s all so much fun and very vibrant! I’m especially a fan of how you’ve drawn Atwas’ hair, very floofy.
Unfortunately, none of us really know much about J-pop idols, so I don’t think any of us can really comment on what kind of songs would be sung. But hey, that’s where you fans come in, feel free to offer your own suggestions to this idol madness!
