SLUMBER is seldom something that Laura can succumb to quickly, even better, dreaming -- the child soldier is relentlessly plagued with nightmares, and will be for all of eternity. How can one merely get over the horrors endured? Answer: you don't. Not really. You just learn how to cope. For Laura, as of late, she's found a brief solace, peace, in the arms of James Stark. Jay. Jamesy.
On any other given night, she would've dozed off without a care, might've even floated off to a gentle rem, silence implementing its way into her very bloodstream, solidifying a kind of comfort she couldn't replicate anywhere else.
Tonight? However, the nightmares hit their tippy top peek, discombobulating every bit of her psyche. To her, flashes of the imagery, much like a 3D video game, spring to life a likeliness as if she's feeling, tasting, witnessing the moment for the first time again. The wafting of the airborne toxin, and when that didn't work, the prick of the needle gliding through her flesh, slithering through her veins straight to her brain, commanding her to kill, kill, and kill! And that she did. Try as she might to fight against it, the evil brewing within her sizzled and came to life until she could only see RED.
...That's when Transigen, a byproduct of Hydra, placed her mother at her feet and commanded her to do away with her as though she had meant nothing. And, though Laura's mind was screaming and begging, Laura couldn't turn off the pure instincts of beserker-rage and...she gave in. She killed her birth mother... Succumbing to such a hideous reality hadn't been part of her sleep schedule. She begins stirring in her sleep, mumbling, sobbing, a single tear streaming down her face. As she gasps and practically comes-to, so do her claws, ramming into the flesh resting beside her...what once was comfort, now bleeds... She'd stabbed him...the one very thing she'd always feared, had come true...no -- no....NO. Surely she's still sleeping?!? But as she peers into his eyes realizing what has transpired a blood curdling scream lifts from her lungs.
"JAMES! -- Oh god!"
