In all honesty, tonight does not feel like a khushali. To have been in Mashhad just two weeks ago and then to see pictures of how magnificent it looks on this special night is actually somewhat painful. My heart is aching to return to the place where I felt nothing but peace and where my heart was at rest. Despite my yearning heart and restless soul, I'd like to say congratulations to the ummah on the birth of our 8th Imam, Imam Rida (sa) and I pray that Allah swt allows us to perform his ziyarah in the beautiful land of Mashhad iA.
Iran, 2014
I feel a post about Iran is somewhat overdue. I've been struggling to find words that will do justice to the experience I had there but I still want to try and share it. On the build up to leaving, I was mainly thinking about the ziyarah element of being there, rather than the fact that I was going on a course so it wouldn't be a normal ziyarah, but it would include classes and being with other people around my age. First off, the sheer beauty of Qom was something I was in awe of when we went to visit Sayeda Fatima Masuma (sa) for the first time. The connection I felt in her presence was the exact one we had been spoken to about. She is my protecter, the mother of the believers, the one whose ziyarah is the equivalent of that of Sayeda Zahra (sa) which intrigued me and was the main element that helped me to understand the true status of this amazing lady. The classes we had in Qom were just as amazing, and with each lesson I walked out contemplating over something new each day. The experience of staying in a hawza; just as incredible, albeit challenging.
Mashhad was entirely different. The only word I have to describe it is peace. Emotions yes, but a feeling of complete contentment; elevation. Being in the presence of Imam Rida (sa), a piece of none other than the Holy Prophet (s) was something I will remember for the rest of my life. Even walking away from that beautiful haram on our last day, I left knowing that I was not really leaving, because the Imam (sa) lives in our hearts and that is more important than anything in the world. May Allah swt grant us all the visitation of Sayyida Masuma (sa) and her brother (sa) again and again iA.
argentina oh my god what the fuck is going on?
It's being so difficult for them to score when the goals are right in their nose
