Please imagine this scenario.
“After nights of restlessness you finally sleep. In the midst of it you hear your phone ringing. You reluctantly open your eyes. You can see that it’s early morning.
You pick up the phone.
A monotone voice begins to speak.
“Your son was executed this morning. We have buried him at this address.” They give you the address of your son’s grave and hang up.
You are left alone with thoughts raging in your head; barely registering the ringing sound after the phone call is finished.
You feel yourself sweating. Your breath quickens. You look around you. Looking for any sign that this was a lie, a nightmare.
Did he just say that they have hung your 22 y.o son? That’s impossible. Your son was alive just a few hours ago. You saw him. Hugged him. They didn’t say anything about this! He was supposed to compete in the wrestling matches after his release.
He was innocent.
You look around you again. The hand not holding the phone grasps the blanket, forms a fist. Everything turns black.”
This is what happened to Majidreza Rahnavard’s family this morning (12 Dec)…
They allowed Majidreza’s mother to visit him without mentioning anything about execution.
She left him thinking that her son would be released soon without knowing that that would’ve been the last time she hugged her son.
Look how happy they both are.
I don’t even know what to say…
