Thanks all for the sympathy! It is much appreciated and big snotty hugs to everyone else also suffering. It’s pants. As to how to not get a cold for five years, my four secrets are:
I’m lucky enough to naturally have a v. good immune system (probably some kind of karmic balance for the severe, crippling anxiety but there we go)
I love orange juice and drink ten gallons daily
I am very very big on hand washing and never have fewer than two of those antibacterial hand gel things in my handbag (don’t link me all the studies that say these are bad. I don’t want to know). Also mostly my job/uni means I have very little contact with the germ reservoirs that are small children
I drink so much wine I am probably pickled, which also helps on the germ killing front
