iReflect: Deuteronomy 6 - What does it mean to Love God with all Your Heart?
iReflect: Deuteronomy 6 – What does it mean to Love God with all Your Heart?
Everybody deserves Love. To love and be loved. To give endearing affection towards another human being and to receive such in return is heavenly. But what does it mean to love God, a spiritual being whom you cannot see with all your heart?
To love God with all your heart is similar to loving human beings, for whoever does not love his brother does not love God. 1 John 4:20 (NLT) .To love God with…

Aphrodite
It has been a long while since I last wrote of a subject in romance. As though eventual outcomes are as always held in uncertainty, maybe in the hands of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, I would like to recount this moment as part of my precious memories since I have not felt like this for years. What does it take for two to walk alongside each other? Where does the feelings of fate come from? is it reality or just another subjective individual perception?
Perhaps I had been acting like a child all along, and have done much of harm to others as much as many had torn my heart apart, but where is the justification of fairness coming from? If it is really Aphrodite who governs the way romances turn out to be one's fate, will she ever allow me to escape from my own despair? Just as she did for Eros and Psyche, even if it means to involve such consequences relating to the fall of Troy.
Roots behind magnificent desires
Music, and also art, fashion and even literature, are reckoned by many Darwinists to be the human equivalent of the peacock’s tail; done well, they show off the genetic prowess of the creator. Similarly, the impulse for self-improvement that creates economic growth comes from the need to be more attractive to the opposite sex than your rivals. And, most profoundly, modern Darwinists reckon that a sense of justice, too, is probably an evolved phenomenon.
Piaget anniversary special edition vintage
This vintage model, had been carried over my mom's side for years, given to me as a new year's gift. Too bad that not much information on this watch is available at the moment, and Piaget does not seem to keep its database for extra-ordinary items like this. If anyone can fill me up with additional information, such as the year it was made, the model name, I would really appreciate your contributions. On the back it has engravings which state 9528X 298XXX, which seems like a set of model and serial numbers. As can be seen in the picture, it's got a decagonal shape, gold plated face, and I believe it originally came with a brown alligator strip.
Social Darwinism
"The classic Jewish learning model is a lifelong enterprise. One never stops learning." Only by continually extending own knowledge, we can evolve into better qualified individuals suitable for the society.
We nowadays live in the world, in which people are exposed to quickly changing environment, with massive introduction to high-end technology and as its direct consequence, globalization. Whether we live in the age of peace, or what social trend or political era our generation belong to are not sorts of questions people should seek, but rather people should first realize everything is changing fast, and make themselves fit for the present, and prepare whatever for the coming ages.
Centuries ago, Charles Darwin came up with a theory which states that only the species that are fit or adapt to their environment will survive. Now is about the time the same theory is to be applied to the human society which is about to turn more brutal. Historical trend has shown that unification of societies can only let few retain their position, yet leave far more in numbers to starve. The kingdom can only hold one ruler to reign and only a single group that surround the figure. The globalization will combine societies of all ethnicities and locations, and soon reshape them into a single social pyramid. However, as it happens that vast majority of population is risk averse, they tend to be more interested with preservation rather than willing to face and accept the changes in surroundings. And what did Chuckie D. say about this phenomenon? Only those who are able to adapt to their surroundings will survive. Well, in human society, people would not necessarily get eaten by predators or anything, but the major consequences would be lower income, inability to attract opposite sex, et cetera.
While globalization forces humankind into a single, unified environment, heightened technology will further spread the gap between leaders and laggers. Wide spread of internet and vast amount of information on it provides ground for those who are determined to empower themselves with knowledge and opportunities. On the other hand, those who remain can only watch and realize time ticks faster. With growing literacy spread as a result of wide usage of internet and extensive stack of knowledge base in form of Web 2.0, one has only oneself to blame but to take affirmative steps one at a time. If one cannot influence the general public, for standing out for own belief, the time has not yet come, but to follow the public trend. Buildup of wealth and fame are definite prerequisites to become a prestigious figure who can initiate a change. At the moment, I may only be where I stand among billions of others, yet with full of potentials and prospects, only can I reach for higher with full of optimism in anticipation.
Epiphany
5 weddings and luckily no funerals for past three weeks. A bit odd to find out what I have realized after attending those weddings, is not necessarily that I wanna be with someone for rest of my life, but to stay in the center of the precious people I have around me. This comes at a cost of possibility for an early engagement with the special someone, which becomes more apparent after seeing so many of those occupied with their profession or social duties, who has kept their single marital status for ages. There had been weddings from each of the groups I take part of, including Kyunggi elementary school, Illinois, Northwestern and LG electronics. The weddings are always meaningful, not only as means to praise the couple for lifetime engagement, but also as being a place of mega-scale reunion. It was so pleasant to be able to meet so many faces that I have not came into contact for a long time. My days at its height are still far to come, not to say that I am any discontent with my present life; strong aspiration for social success and desire for acquaintance with more individuals of prominence still does and will continue to take priority over hopes for starting a family with the beloved one.

Ecclesiastical Myopia
Another reason which brings me to resent any forms of religion is that they often lead people to become myopic about the values of truth, social relationship, and respect for one another. What defines being good and evil, and on what terms do church authorities have right to convince people to live the way they have set out? As Christianity, yet the most widely practiced religion, defines spiritual salvation, is religion about how frequent and how long one participates in ecclesiastical ceremony? Did Jesus or Muhammad or even Gautama ever force their fellows to prohibit from drinking or sex, yet demand that they spend hours and hours praying for no point of reason? Can a person claim oneself of spiritual righteousness for being an active church member while defying others and oneself? It is also true that people cannot be truly judgmental when it comes to right and wrong because everyone is subject to subjectivity; however, scriptural doctrines are also subject to misinterpretation. Religious institutions in today's world are merely just another form of nonprofit or so-claimed organizations which persist their existence with provision of emotional comfort, and in return, funds and compliance. As they grow older, people define who they are, at least determined ones do so. This should not only apply to their superficial characterstics, but also to the spiritual inner being. Not saying that religions are all bad, but quite often pastors lose their impartiality, and leave people in myopia in both ethical and social standards, or even superstition; therefore, people should be able to define good and bad solely under own shadows of objectivity, and draw their boundaries in order to become socially spiritual personality within.
This post is still coherent with my long-lasted position on the issue of religion, although I have written this under abrupt anxiety and frustration, which may have caused myself to make radical statements through extensive use of induction. At last, it brings me to a realization that the last thing I need at the moment is some little minx who happens to introduce me into the revisited world of never-ending arguments with trust issues and disappointment that follows.
