Huh. The last time I lived in a place big enough to have a “downtown”... well, let me rephrase that. Washington DC presumably has libraries that charge for parking, but you also don’t have to *drive* in the District, because the Metro system is pretty good. But the downtown library in Fort Wayne had a dedicated underground parking garage similar to this one, and the library comped your parking if you came into the library and stuck your ticket into the validating machine. I guess I figured that was standard procedure. Apparently this library only comps your parking if you were at an official library event like story hour, and only for two hours max.

I almost forgot about the ‘firewall’ line, thanks for reminding me! Yes, it definitely could, and the possible implications of that line have me intrigued.

There’s still a long way to go before the relationships here get healthy. Grif’s actions during this final assault look, to me, like someone trying to prove himself, to say “I can help! Please don’t leave me.”

Oh absolutely. @riathedreamer discussed this excellently in their meta here.

I’d also like to take a moment to note the differences here between this ending and the one in Season 13, where Grif was the one unwilling to give up.

On the Staff of Charon, the BGC was trapped in the trophy room, out gunned and with space pirates ready to break in and murder them all. Unlike the rest of the crew, Grif was the one to take stock of their surroundings, and he also was the one to kick their butts in gear so they were able to make that last stand. One could argue, and later the Blood Gulch Crew probably did rationalize that away as just Grif’s  sense of self preservation kicking in.

And... honestly, before he quit, Grif probably preferred them thinking about it like that. 

What makes this different is that the Blood Gulch crew abandoned Grif on that moon, and before they left, Tucker left behind that selfish comment. What makes this different is that Grif didnt have to do anything. He could have just stood there like Donut and Simmons.

Dexter Grif sat there with his volleyballs, and that word selfish rattled around in his head. We already know from the way that Grif acted with his volleyballs that everything the rest of his friends had ever said to him (fat, stupid, lazy) Grif had taken to heart, and internalized. Grif probably also sat there thinking about all his actions, from volunteering to help Caboose on his mission, to busting through a wall to save Simmons, to stealing the Meta’s bruteshot out of his hands, to what happened on Chorus, and he tried to come up with how that was selfish.

Once Grif got back to the group, we see he’s changed. He’s a little less snarky than he was before, and he volunteers more. He’s absolutely trying to prove himself to the BGC. Being “selfish” made them leave him in the first place. I just wonder now if we’re going to see a pattern here of Grif throwing himself into more and more dangerous situations just so he can get some goddamn acknowledgement or something out of the people he calls friends.

I didn't really like Sarge that much my first time watching the show but now he's one of my faves... I love him so much I'm angry at past me for not seeing how great he is.

20. favorite armor enchantment?

I really like Carolina’s speed unit. Its cool and I liked the scene where Grif had it installed in his suit. He's so cute when he's hyper. tbh Id love if it came back and Grif got to use it since he apparently is good with super speed? but I doubt well see a return of the enhancements because no more AIs...

if it's a small school and they're in late elementary, there could be just 2 teachers for their grade.

listen the USA system fucking baffles me so whatever school they’re in is gonna be a weird pseudo-european school with a 10 grade system and the metric unit

The ~24 hour timeframe ScriptTorture gave the Murder Fridge scenario fits, actually. Temple probably had "Go Gloat" penciled into his schedule but the Tucker rallied the Reds and Blues and they messed everything up. Add in Grif and Locus' rescue and Temple suddenly doesn't have a chance to go gloat. And Dylan got the villain monologue because of sheer opportunity.

yep! love that post. 24 hours is the only time frame i like, but the problem with that is that if it’s only been a day, wash shouldn’t be crazy. wash being that out of it and temple not going back breaks fucking everything. the most you’re gonna get out of me is three days, and i’m still gonna be cranky as hell, because carolina shouldn’t be able to move.

here’s how it works out for me*:

1 day = my suspension of disbelief isn’t threatened by what carolina does onscreen, but it is shattered by wash

2-3 days = now i am Upset that temple has not reappeared. wash makes more sense, but carolina is killing me. she’s on the ground, period. a kick actually making contact would be agonizing. any of you guys work[ed] retail? imagine standing for two straight days. she’s not kicking ANYONE. get this girl a hospital.

4-5 days = see above.

6-8 days = why do you hate me? :c

* = this is how it works for me. if the shoe fits for you, lace that bitch up and wear it.
