Day 3: Wireframe(s) #1 + Beginning of Site Mapping

I drew the 5 general layouts I would like the site to have and sat down with the web developer of my team to go over what I had in mind.

Left to Right: Main Landing, About Us, Events/Committees, History of IRHC

Day 5: Examining Current User Flows

It appears that we had a large drop off rate on the landing page in the past 10 days, this could be due to the recent large-scale event IRHC had and the fact that the link to the description was offsite (facebook). There was a record high interaction rate on November 4, the day of the event. 

It also appears that users appeared most concerned with learning about who is on the council (/meet-the-council), the calendar, and”What is IRHC?”

Embarking on a UX Journey :D

At the beginning of my second semester sophomore year, I discovered UX, and immediately craved for an excuse to learn more and use the concepts presented in the many articles I found online. The more I read, the more I felt like I had found the answer to the dreaded question: "What do you want to do after college?"

Out of elective space, (and it wasn't like NYU had any consistent UX course offering outside of SPS, anyways), and unable to afford a GA course (I am a broke college student, after all), I decided I would try to learn UX the way I did with print design: practice, practice, practice! 

(Or rather google it, learn it, apply it, repeat)

I was lucky enough to be elected as the Vice President of Communications of NYU IRHC this year and gained admin access to their website. IRHC is one of the most prominent student organizations within NYU. They get a decent amount of traffic but the website is in great disrepair.

I will have a committee of about 9 people to work with but many of them have little to no design/marketing experience.
