Case Study: Visvim Website Redesign (Concept Project)
Overview
Visvim has always stood out to me for its deep attention to craft, heritage, and storytelling. The brand doesn’t chase trends — it builds culture. This project is a conceptual redesign of the Visvim website, created as a personal portfolio piece to explore how the brand’s philosophy could translate into a more refined, modern digital experience.
This is not an official collaboration. The reminder was purely self-initiated.
Goal
The goal of this project was simple:
Respect Visvim’s minimal, craft-driven identity
Improve clarity and structure without over-designing
Create a calm, premium browsing experience that feels intentional
Focus on storytelling, not just products
I wanted the site to feel like flipping through a well-printed lookbook rather than scrolling an e-commerce store.
Process
1. Understanding the Brand
Before touching any design tools, I spent time observing:
Visvim’s existing website
Their photography, typography, and spacing choices
The pace at which content is revealed
How much they value texture, whitespace, and restraint
The takeaway: less, but done perfectly.
2. Low-Fidelity Wireframes (Pen & Paper)
Instead of jumping straight into Figma, I started with rough wireframes in my notebook.
This helped me:
Think freely without visual distractions
Focus on layout, hierarchy, and flow
Experiment quickly without worrying about pixels
At this stage, nothing was polished — just structure, intent, and ideas.
3. Translating to Figma
Once the wireframes felt right, I moved into Figma to start shaping the actual design.
In Figma, my focus was on:
Clean grid systems
Intentional spacing and alignment
Subtle typography hierarchy
Letting imagery breathe
I treated Figma as a refinement tool, not a place to “decorate.”
Design Direction
Minimal & editorial layout
Strong use of whitespace
Calm, muted color palette
Large, immersive imagery
Simple navigation that stays out of the way
Every design decision was made to support the brand’s quiet confidence.
Outcome
The result is a concept website that:
Feels premium without being loud
Reflects Visvim’s craftsmanship and philosophy
Balances modern usability with timeless design
Showcases products as part of a story, not just items for sale
This project helped me practice restraint — designing by removing rather than adding.
Learnings
Starting with pen and paper leads to clearer thinking
Good design doesn’t need complexity
Spacing and hierarchy can communicate luxury better than effects
Strong brands don’t need heavy UI — they need clarity
