Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas (2022, David Winning)
12/6/23
Cooking with Aunt Rachel
Iris Quinn, aka Aunt Rachel in the So Weird episode “Twin”, has a cookbook titled SALIVATION.
Her recipe for Goat Cheese Sun Dried Tomato Pita Crisps would be delicious for lunch or appetizers!
If the recipe card isn’t convincing enough, watch her make it!
You can see a preview of her cookbook’s pages here and order it at her website here.
Apparently “Jennifer”/Brittney Irvin from the So Weird episode Rewind went on to be a regular actress for Hallmark movies. It’s amazing because from the first Hallmark movie I saw her in, I always thought she looked sort of familiar but had no idea why - I thought she just reminded me of an actress on Community (a show I’ve only seen in gifs, they look similar to me.) Anyway, finally I looked through her IMDB page today and it all clicked. Now she’s a blonde while on So Weird she was a redhead (and twenty years is a long time, especially when she was a teenager on So Weird), so that’s probably why I never made the connection until I looked it up.
I love that So Weird actors show up in Hallmark movies occasionally. I’ve also seen “Aunt Rachel”/Iris Quinn on Hallmark too though she was immediately recognizable, along with an actress who played one of Annie’s friends. It’s not really coincidental since both So Weird and Hallmark movies were/are made in Canada, but it’s nice to know the actors are doing well. Makes me want to comb through So Weird supporting cast and see if any other alum have ended up on Hallmark in recent years...
Iris Quinn (Aunt Rachel in So Weird’s “Twin” episode) was on Global BC Television to promote her cookbook, SALIVATION.
She made two recipes: Chicken Pecan Orange Salad with Mint Vinaigrette and Coconut Macaroons (gluten free). Then at 1:37 Iris and the host discuss the pinwheels on display.

I think what I need to do is work on writing suspense, which is not a thing I’m all that good at, and also work on figuring out what Corrie fears.
And also... what does Katie feel?
Katie’s goal is for Corrie to keep writing. So she wants to encourage things that will make Corrie write this story, and discourage things that won’t.
I think something is going to have to happen to Iris. But not yet. That would come towards the end.
I need to build up the fear.
I also want to make it clear at some point that Lindy is trans.
Iris seems like a Gryffindor. I think she’s going to end up fucking with someone who hassles him about it.
I think the fact that Iris and Sabrina are ghost obsessed is going to lead Corrie to realize that she’s being haunted.
And of course, when it starts to effect the rest of the house (because at first, it’s just Corrie’s office), Iris notices it right away. And Sabrina helps out.
I feel like Shay is also going to play a role in this. I’m not sure how old Shay is. Iris and Sabrina and Lindy are 5. I feel like Shay is like 9 or something?
I kind of want to have Iris and Sabrina and a very reluctant Lindy to be Ghostbusters for Halloween. The new ones. Maybe Shay even gets in on it, if they feel like having matching costumes with their younger sister.
