date night:

Iris + Bob had reservations for some fancy restaurant on the other side of town. When they got there they realized this was not their vibe, too stuffy, dim, and serious… so instead they decided to take the long walk back to the tower. They spent the whole night walking in New York City, walking with their hands intertwined either talking about whatever or in complete silence. Content in each other’s company. (my dream date tbh) They sropped for pizza at a new by the slice spot they passed that happened to be open late, then on their way back they stopped at a bodega for some pints of ice cream. The night ended with watching Bob’s Burgers in Iris’s room while eating ice cream and her head on his shoulder. Maybe a kiss, but that’s it… (I yearn for non sexual physical intimacy)

the team’s thoughts:

Bucky was the first person Iris told. He figured as much but Iris wanted him to hear it from her. At first he was skeptical, purely because he didn’t know if either Iris or Bob were in a safe enough place mentally and with their individual abilities to control their powers, for them to be in a serious relationship. But with a gentle reminder from Sam, Bucky was reminded that Iris was an adult who had been through enough and deserved a chance at a somewhat normal life (as normal you can get as a traumatized widow/witch)

Yelena and Ava were never told flat out because it’s not like Iris + Bob were being secretive in front of the team. But when Iris mentioned the date of their first date, Y and A were surprised and said “what were guys doing before then!?” (Golden moon, my highkey codependent friends to lovers)

John and Alexei had similar responses. John said something about not knowing Bob had game like that, but mostly he was surprised that Bucky approved. (Bucky, my protective chosen-family familial f/o <3) Alexei said something wildly inappropriate, something along the lines of if Bob knew how to treat/pleasure a woman. (Bob got super flustered mostly b/c they were taking things slow) (spoiler alert, Bob knows ball #loverboy 😔🤭) (I’m so sorry. I’ve been feeling feral over this fictional man lately.)

Mel was super chill about it but was mostly super key in helping them hide their relationship from Val. They didn’t want their relationship to be used as pr, or worse, Val finding some way to forbid it.
