In 1914, a 9 year girl from Ballyporeen, Ireland boarded the RSM Mauritania (alone) she was the oldest of five children, and was sent to America by herself after her mother passed away. Mary Ladrigan, arrived at Ellis Island after traveling the 3,176 miles. She was sent to New Haven, CT to live with her Aunt. 1928, Mary Ladrigan marries Leo McPherson (of Boston) and they have two daughters, Mary Jeanne and Judith. Mary Jeanne McPherson marries Cornelius J. Gearin and have six children, Michael, Patrick, Kevin, Colin, Sheila and Matthew. Those six Gearins go on to have children; Seamus, Daniel, Sean, Kathleen (Kate), Michael, Liam, Kayla, Shayla, Lexie, Mary and Neil. Without the bravery, sacrifice, courage, and determination, of one Irish Immigrant, Mary Ladrigan from Ballyporeen, in Tipperary County, Ireland.... None of us would be here. There would be no #irishkateart☘ My heart pains for the world right now. I have no words and extend my prayers to humanity. #wereallimmigrants #prayforhumanity #wefailedtheworld #immigrants #immigrantsmakeamericagreat #weresorry #irishimigrants #andalsotoyou #theirish #notmypresident #historyrepeatsitself #thisiswrong #notwhoweare #prayers
