For everything Irish Rovers
A long time ago, when the earth was still green, There were more kinds of animals than you've ever seen. They'd run around free while the earth was being born, The loveliest of all was the Unicorn. #unicorn #love #pinkhair #unicorns #unicornlove #irishrovers #animalofscotland #nationalanimalofscotland #stuffedanimal #unicornia #plushiesofinstagram #plushies #stuffedtoy #handmade #toys #etsyusa #etsylove #etsyforall #shopetsy #etsyfinds #etsyfind

Songs of the Heart of Christmas - 2014
The Irish Rovers are comprised of yet another group of relatives who emigrated from Northern Ireland to Canada to launch their music career in the early 1960's. Brothers George and Will Millar, their cousin Joe and close friend Jim Ferguson landed in the Toronto area and helped integrate the Irish tradition into the burgeoning North American folk scene. This album, "The Unicorn," might be their most popular, and contains the song "The Unicorn" penned by Shel Silverstein. It was released in 1973 on MCA Records.
We chose a different song to share, however, entitled "The First Love of Life." This one contains most of the same lyrics as "The Limerick Rake" and frankly we can't offer a better description than Will Millar himself:
There are love songs to girls, to nature, to love itself, but here is the sweetest of all love songs to the water of life - to whiskey.
A little light-hearted music from the Irish Rovers for your Friday.
