Getting that little bit closer to heading off.
I finished up in my secondment role in marine biodiversity policy on Thursday and I’m not sure exactly what role I will be coming back to. Jarod has someone acting in his role and the kids have finished for the term with school. Finlay is currently out celebrating her 14th Birthday with friends as she will be in Namibia for the actual day.
Getting the house tidy for a house sitter (from South Africa). I’m taking Zoe up to Castlemaine tomorrow to stay with Mum (sorry miss Zoe Lyon you can’t come on this camping trip). A visit with Dad in the nursing home before heading back to Melbourne. Lots to do but feeling organised.
I’m feeling excited but a bit nervous about visiting a country that has BIG wildlife. It will become second nature in no time and we are very experienced campers/4WDers.
We were inspired to embark on this trip by a friend who travels to Southern Africa often. The idea was first sparked about 5 years ago and Greg has provided itinerary ideas and endless tips and advice to do this trip as a self guided tour. It has taken months of planning, many campsites required booking ahead 6-9 months ago. Good thing I love an Excel spreadsheet, I have a comprehensive one for this trip.
