guys I got SO SICK the other night, I wanted to type this story out earlier but only started feeling good enough to do it now. I woke up in the morning a few days ago with the telltale signs of being sick, I was achy and feverish and just had chills all over. Spent the day curled up on the couch watching old episodes of supernatural and drinking gatorade and hoping it would be a 24 hour thing. Boy was I wrong. I went to bed that night and my stomach just felt off. Looking in the mirror as I was brushing my teeth, I could tell that my belly was a bit distended, poking out from my loose comfy t-shirt. My stomach felt heavy, like there were rocks sitting at the bottom of it. I finished getting ready for bed and moved to my room where I laid down and gently rubbed my achy tummy, hoping the unsettled feeling would diminish enough for me to go to sleep. But after half an hour, I knew I was in trouble. The “off” feeling I felt earlier had developed into full blown nausea, and I knew that I was going to be sick soon. Shivering and wrapped in blankets, I slowly made my way to the bathroom connected to my bedroom. With forearms braced against the seat and my upset, gurgling belly pressed into the side of the toilet, I took a few breaths, trying to calm the sick feeling. I didn’t want to throw up. I didn’t want the dizziness and fatigue and malaise that follows being violently sick. But the nausea increased so dramatically that I didn’t have a choice, I felt my diaphragm heave and suddenly I was puking wave after wave of clear liquid tinged yellow with bile. My belly stayed clenched up tight, my body going through the motions of puking after every breath I managed to squeeze in. I was at a total loss of control. I couldn’t stop. Eventually the contractions eased off and I could take a few shallow breaths without setting off my stomach again. I spit out the bitter taste in my mouth and sat back, one hand on my tummy and the other covering my mouth. After a few minutes the nausea subsided and I went back to my room. I tried laying back down in bed after, but the sick feeling in my belly kicked back in within just a few minutes. I tried to ignore it and go to sleep, but the nausea would surge up so intensely I knew that I needed to be somewhere safer… the heavy feeling in my stomach returned with a vengeance and I knew I was about to be sick all over again. Sitting up in bed, I took a few sips of water just so my belly would have something to puke back up, and I went back to the bathroom to deal with the inevitable. Will post part 2 soon!
