Summary:

Niki had friends in the village, friends who would lend themselves to her cause, and all she would have to do was ask. At a word, they would be up in arms with her, ready to ferry her up the mountain and into the palace of the gods. They would stand at her side and at her back. They would face the end of the world with her, bring down the god home from the sky, lay low the gods on the earth and flood the oceans with their golden ichor. They could do all this and more. Rivers would have delighted to lure them into her streams and kill them slow. Lenay would have drowned them in her oceans. Etoiles would do his part with only the strength in his very human hands, and he would be more effective than three years of useless killings. If Mouse was here, she would have torn them from the sky herself. She would have been glorious, golden blood in her hair and teeth, eyes glowing that odd pinkish color they sometimes took on in the right lighting. She would have destroyed them with her bare hands and she would not have stopped even if they had begged for mercy.

ARGUMENT HOUR

Mouse dies and loses her second life, Niki responses and says it’s because she’s sick due to drawing in a lake — which contains many harmful bacteria.

Mouse during this time had confirmed to Niki that she’d been seeing hallucinations (of Bubi and Nyanners, but she doesn’t say that) and Niki thinks it’s because the poor demon is sick. Argument ensues 🏄‍♂️
