MICE
The mice are the true believers; given their size and otherwise few natural offensive and defensive traits, they make up for what they lack physically with extraordinary force of will. This most commonly takes the form of a career in religion where faith and charisma are rewarded. Common is the monkish churchmouse, and long is the list of murine holy martyrs.
However, even outside of a church mice can be found in positions requiring great faith or leadership through inspiration. They are often the hardcore revolutionaries, social progressives, and other unassuming grassroot organizers. They typically are purveyors of hope, humanism and a stoic hardwork ethic; viewing cynicism as a luxury.
A less charitable view is that mice make the best zealots, or are gullible in the extreme. However, few would dispute that a mouse on a mission is implacable. As the saying goes: "A mouse holds the sword with both hands", referring both to their small size, but also their devotion to a chosen cause.
