Abe, a Philosophy professor starts working at a college and suffers from depression. Professor Rita and his student Jill are both romantically interested in him. At lunch, Abe and Jill overhear a strangers conversation, a woman worried she will lose her children in a custody battle due to a biased judge. Abe, knowing he has no connection to the stranger and knows he wouldn't be a suspect, decides to take the life of the judge to help the lady. After doing the deed, Abe becomes happier and feels like he's done something worthwhile. Jill and Rita suspect he was the perpetrator in the crime, Jill confronts him and he admits it was him and she ends their relationship. An innocent man is accused of the crime and Jill pressures Abe to to do the right thing and surrender, and warns him if he doesn't she will report him. Abe then attempts to take the life of Jill - no more - spoilers.
