2017 was a good year for a Ran and ShinRan fan

(1) Eri Kidnapping Case - 

Ran got suspicious of Conan again and confronted him but the way she let him off was very fishy. Gosho has said that he plans to keep Ran in the dark, so it might as well be nothing but it was good to see Ran getting suspicious.

Ass kicking Ran was in full effect and it’s always great to see that.

(2) The Kendo Tournament Murder Case -

Shipper Ran was in full force.She didn’t have the time for the culprit’s nonsense with trying to hurt other people because he was proven wrong with regards to the motive. She kicked him and that was that. She hurried both Okita and Heiji so that they could have a match and Heiji could confess.

(3) The pre-Kyoto Flower Cafe Murder Case-

Otherwise known as the case in which Conan is jealous and irritated and solves the case the moment he enters the crime scene. 

(4) The Kyoto School Trip-

This was a long time coming. We had Ran confessing to Shinichi. We had Shinichi being jealous of Okita. Shinichi being an adorable goofball while Ran hugged him and wondering about what her position was in the popularity contest. Ran kissing Shinichi on the cheek but since just the cheek wasn’t enough, he tried to go in for a real kiss, which he would have gotten. (Better luck next time, boy)

Ran messaged Shinichi, officially asking him whether they were dating or not after she got Shinichi’s message thanking her for her answer to his London Confession.

(5) Missing Maria Higashio Case-

Ran puts her forehead on Conan’s, checking for a fever, which makes Conan blush. And it’s slightly unbelievable to him, so he checks again to see Ran’s message where she asks whether they are dating or not, to which he happily thinks that it wasn’t a dream once he sees the message. 

Ran also checks her message later in the case when everybody’s rushing off to prove that it wasn’t Shinichi Kudo that was in Kyoto and is happy when she sees it. The message confirms that they are dating.

Sooo, yeah, this year was F A N T A S T I C.

can I just say as someone who took two years of Japanese that your translators are extremely impressive? I look at Q.E.D raws and I feel like self-destructing.

I agree. There's not much more I can say about our TLers, but they work especially hard on Q.E.D. - much more than our other series, and they deserve all the respect and goodwill that comes their way.
