Iruka with Katara's hair loopies 🥰

I'm still only a couple of chapters into Iruka-as-reincarnated-Katara fic, but I love the idea that one day he just does the hair loopies on automatic and then sort of lets them be... although I want to do a thing about hair beads and water tribe culture... so we'll see

I don't know if he'd wear water tribe clothing under his Chuunin vest (especially since the triangles look an awful lot like the ones on Fugaku's police uniform and Sakumo's... sleeve...thing? They look like some sort of status indicator.) But he might wear them when he's off duty! Although I'm not sure how Visibly Foreign clothing would be received in a military dictatorship that was at war, like, yesterday.

Re-Learning Waterbending

Ta-da! It's Irukatara

From my Naruto/Atla crossover. Katara reincarnated as Iruka:

Rule of Balance, Will of Fire

Revised my previous design a little. And actually inked and colored it.

I really wanted him to have the hair loopies but the headband kept getting in the way. I was also playing around with the idea of a necklace, since it's so important to Katara's design. Then the obvious solution hit me and I moved the hitai-ate to his neck.

Aimed to make him look young, like about 16. Can't tell if I succeeded. I think the bigger and more stylized the eyes the younger the character is in anime. Maybe I should have made them even bigger? Or his face a bit rounder? Insights from more experienced anime artists appreciated.

Iruka finally figures out how to bend both elements at the same time. Bending existed waaaaay before Kaguya came around and did her weird chakra fruit thing, which is why the sharingan can't see any chakra when Iruka bends.

(Jury's out on the Byakuugan though. It's a little more specialized on seeing energy, so it probably can.)
