so...was anybody going to tell me about the bulletin board with “romania” on it in jenny's classroom? or was i just supposed to notice it for the first time when rewatching i, robot... you, jane (1.08) for the sixth time? because the foreshadowing is so small but SO loud when you finally see it.

Everyone remember this?

Giles: Well, it’s been so nice talking to you.

Jenny: We were fighting. 

Giles: Must do it again sometime. 

What if all of their mundane little arguments afterwards are just Jenny being petty because he totally blew her off right here. Of course, Giles doesn’t find this out for like years and then one day they’re fighting over how Giles didn’t buy the laundry detergent Jenny likes. Buffy walks in, looks at them and just yells over their squabbling, “Why are you guys always fighting?!” Jenny looks at her, shrugs, and makes an off-hand comment about how in 1996 they were fighting and Rupert said that they ‘must do it again sometime.’ Everyone stops, and Giles just gives her the most flabbergasted look; “You’ve been starting arguments because of something I said 4 years ago?!” Jenny glares at him, “You totally blew me off, Rupert!” This divolves into them starting a new argument because Giles can’t believe she’s being this petty and Jenny is pissed he doesn’t get why she was upset. Buffy just stands there for a few minutes before throwing her hands up and storming out of the room

Opinion on I Robot, You Jane

I Robot, You Jane

Not my least favorite episode, at all! I don’t know how anyone can dislike this episode so much to the point of saying it’s worse than episodes like The Killer in Me, Crush, Gone, etc… 

I pretty much say this in all of my season 1 reviews, but charm is something that saves every episode. Season 1 of Buffy is charming, adorable, fun. 

I know that Moloch is a weird demon and that this episode is hilariously outdated (emphasis on hilarious), but who doesn’t laugh at “If you’re not jacked in, you’re not alive.”? Or at Moloch’s Italian lovers? Come on, this episode is iconic! 

Great things about this episode: stuffy Giles turning his nose up at computers (that don’t smell!), Buffy and Xander saving Willow, Willow beating up Moloch, that old computer that rewrote some guy’s essay on Hitler, etc. 

I also love the final scene of the Scoobies realizing their love lives were doomed, which makes painful sense after seven seasons. 

I guess, 7/10? Don’t get the hate!
