Looking back at my live reactions to season 5, watching myself bend over backwards to try to justify the frankly strange dynamic between Martin and Jon, how Martin treats Jon in such an uncharacteristic way given his whole development up to season 4, how everyone gets more than a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment of serious sympathy and time to explain themselves, while Jon is left to apologize and be interrupted. Again. And again.

Only to realize from the post show's creators multiple retrospectives that this was just an accidental result of a deviation of plan that gave him an attempt at a sympathetic route while the creators themselves couldn't muster up the sympathy to do it properly, because they were already partially influenced by the previous, abandoned direction of the show.

Okay so @sagaiisms got me thinking about how Barry carries around people at 500+ mph, which no human body is able to withstand. I now have an explanation for this, because it wouldn’t make sense otherwise, so this is going to be about BARRY’S SPEED + TIME DILATION.

Barry can experience his speed while running in two ways.

He moves at the speed, experiencing the world going past him at high speeds. This is what he describes as a relaxing feeling, and he loves feeling everything rush past him.

He slows down the world around him, moving so fast that everything moves slower. However, to him it feels like he’s moving at normal speeds, and everything around him is moving at a snail’s pace. He usually only uses this part when watching situations (assessing danger, etc).

When Barry carries people around, he uses a COMBINATION. He brings them into this time dilation, similar to Flashpoint in season 4, and when he carries people, they experience him running at a MORE normal pace. But, it is incomprehensible because of how fast he’s moving, so they still experience everything rushing past them. So while they aren’t experiencing the complete slowed down, but they aren’t experiencing movement at 500+ mph, thus balancing it out so their organs aren’t being rearranged.

Working in a gallery with a huge collection of classical and modern/contemporary art is just whiplash around every corner like there’s a Rembrandt and Lievens then there’s a Picasso and Warhol and then some of the weirdest shit you’ve ever seen and you look at your colleague like, “what…is it?” And she shrugs and says “yeah I don’t get it nor do I like it” and you continue on
