Gabi isn't sure exactly where the night is going, but Nico seems to have a plan. Nico's entire plan was: politely seduce Gabi.

In which Egle has left Nico in charge of inviting Gabi to be their third. Gabi is more than a little bit on board.

“No, man, come on, she’s your wife.” Gabi’s not convinced this isn’t some kind of verbal dick tap — if he says yes, Nico’s going laugh and tell Egle about it and he’ll never be able to look her in the eye again. “Of course she’s beautiful, but, mate …”

Nico has a hand on the back of his couch, and slides it down to squeeze Gabi’s neck briefly. Then he shrugs.

“Okay,” Nico says, very lightly.

Gabi stares at him. “What do you mean, okay?”

Nico laughs into his beer. “Okay, you’re not interested. It’s completely fine, Gabi. No pressure.”

5 and 9 for the F1 asks, please! ✨

5. Most beige flag driver - EDIT: wait come back, I googled this bc I assumed I knew what it meant and then read another answer to this question and turns out I was wrong. However! My answer below is unchanged but the flag is all the marvel shit. The way he's into marvel is beige as hell. Okay, continue: Hehehe. The way that to answer this I had to make a whole list of red/beige/green flags drivers... For all that, I think my answer has got to be Esteban. He seems like a sweet guy! He's very handsome! I know basically nothing about him! Like, he's always cute in grill the grid and secret santa, but the only ship he has on the grid is Pierre and they're all bound to their annoying bond of secrecy or whatever. I don't know of him doing anything #problematic neither can I speak to a time he's done something especially compelling. He seems a capable if not exceptional driver, but he comes up most frequently in my lexicon via "tell Esteban to defend like a lion" (which, to be clear, he did not). So that's my answer, such as it is.

9. Least favorite season - Oooooh. Well, I'm going to pick from the seasons I've been watching. Can't be 2025, obviously. I was a constant advocate for the season even though the experience was what it was. Can't be 2021 or 2024. My impulse was to say 2022, because it was such a letdown to realize that Mercedes had got it wrong and that there would be no payback for Abu Dhabi. However, 2022 was a good season for my little guy and there was the Ferrari challenge (at the start of the year), and so the answer must be 2023. It's hard to argue for the merits of a season where one team won 21 of 22 races (though I watched the Sainz win in Singapore in a bar in Paris with a cluster of four others who'd begged for an F1 TV despite the rugby world cup being on. It was the remarkable race result that pleased all of us, despite our disparate rooting interests. And of course, Carlando stocks through the roof after that one.) But yeah, 2023 has to be my least favorite of the seasons I've been a fan.

11: what's a sports moment that lives in your head rent free? - I have many, but the first has to be the 2015 super bowl. Seahawks are driving, second-and-1 from the Patriots' end zone. Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. Pete Carroll calls a passing play. Malcolm Butler interception.

12: do you have any collections (cards, jerseys, etc)? - Not as such? I have an assortment of merch but nothing coherent enough to call a collection. I think if I get one more I can refer to my Lego McLaren F1 cars as a collection though.

6. Favorite title you used - Probably Neapolitan, it made me giggle (I know which guy is which flavor, also)

17. Your favorite character to write this year? - probably Lando Norris. Even when I wasn't writing him I was thinking about him (there's so much of special ops au in my head). Close second goes to Jenson Button, for similar reasons.

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? - Lando Norris, bless, but only because I was working on fic where I really wanted to nail his characterization in whatever situation I'd placed him so I was iterating through drafts trying to get it right.

2. I'm ngl Lewis' most recent silverstone win had me tearing up a little bit I was SO happy for him and seeing him so emotional and believing in himself again had me <3333333333333333

Unfortunately no ): I don't have money for F1 races but I did see Vegas getting set up LOL I have been to other sports events though, like Basketball, Baseball, Football (I lived in a college town we saw it alllllll lol also Japan is so big on Baseball) and I did see a sumo wrestling match which was AWESOME Absolutely loved the long standing traditions of sumo and all of the intricate practices that are done all throughout the sport

2. A song you didn't expect to see in your top 10

Burn by King Woman was my number 5, and I guess I did listen to it a lot over the summer, but I really didn't expect it to be so high up in my list! It is one of my favorite songs, but I thought it would be a lot lower lol.

19. Is the most streamed song by your favourite artist your favourite of them?

My most streamed song was Tunnel Lights by Chelsea Wolfe, who is both my favorite artist and my top artist of the year. I don't think this is my favorite song of hers, but I don't know if I could pick just one as my all time favorite. If I had to list some favorites though, it would be Lone, The Liminal, Spinning Centers, Virginia Woolf Underwater, and Carrion Flowers!
