Seems I'm at twitter war with some dude arguing with one account about the IS Network wanting a reformist party and another about the push for a merger between the IS Network and ACI. On LU, he seems to be a fan of Nick Wrack's Socialist Platform. I want to tell him that maybe people did vote for it not because it was 'too left' but because it was too shit. On Realignment joining forces with ACI makes a lot more sense than rushing into things with Socialist Resistance, Worker's Power or (his suggestion) the CPGB. Especially when a grouping of their members are already calling for dissolving into the IS Network. (However likely I think that will be) If any of you are on twitter btw my Handel is @ignite_magazine and the IS Network account is @ISNetwork1

The events of last week have highlighted just how under attack one particular race of people has become across large stretches of Europe. The great liberal myth of Europe as a land of modernity and reason has constantly tried to renew itself after it was so horrifically shattered by the Holocaust. Yet barbarism and hatred have continued to thrive in the continent whose greatness John Stuart Mill once attributed to a “remarkable diversity of character and culture”.

Why yes, of course I think that had four in the morning on little sleep is just a simply swell time to start writing a contribution for the IS Network Pre-Conference Bulletin. Let's think of it less as the Hemmingway school of write drunk/edit sober and more of the Wagner school of write exhausted/edit freshly recharged.
