Anti-privatisation campaign fundraiser, Thursday 10 October

At our meeting on Thursday it was mentioned that anti-privatisation campaign group 999 Call for the NHS will be holding a fundraising gig at Darlington's Forum Music Centre on Thursday 10 October. The line-up features folk-rock troubadour Dan Donnelly, Billy Bragg tribute act Just Braggin', funk maverick Steve Cooke, young band The White Vinyl, Joanne Land and Ian Rutland. Save the NHS

I'm pretty mild in my political thinking generally, but today I took Part in a 50,000 strong protest against the cuts to the NHS. It was a very mild mannered affair more of a ramble with very middle class people. However, what has opened my eyes was the complete lack of national media coverage by the BBC. This was happening at the National Conservative Party Conference and yet it wasn't deemed important enough for our national broadcaster to cover. Well, if anything it's made me more interested in finding out what else is being hidden from us
