nobody is ever under the impression that jess was adopted into the walkers’ family out of love. nah, son, it was literally a pr stunt meant to increase patsy’s fame. but we’re not talking about that now. we’re talking about tr*sh. trish has been romanticising jess’ trauma from the very beginning --------- how cool it was for her to have powers, despite the fact that jessica got them as a result of her family’s death and she wants nothing to do with them. this is a girl who lost literally everything she could ever lose, only to be constantly belittled for feeling sad or mourning. but okay, trish wasn’t in the best state then either, so let’s move on.
let’s talk about college. let’s talk about jess asking trish nicely to not have house parties every night because she wants to actually study and do something with her life, while trish is busy being a star. trish’s reply ?? ‘I’LL GET YOU A GODDAMN TUTOR.’ followed by guilting jess because ‘i’m proud of what i did tonight, jess, even if you aren’t.’ which... is unfounded and untrue. all jess asked was for trish to tone it down ONE NIGHT so she could study. but it gets worse. she goes on to call jess a leech, telling her to pay her ‘own goddamn tuition’ despite the fact that she insisted on paying for it.
okay, they were young. sure. cool. let’s talk about trish after jess came back from being held prisoner by kilgrave, shall we ?? the dismissal of her feelings. the fact that she’s overbearing, and forces jess to see a therapist as soon as she’s back, despite the fact that she hasn’t had time to process what happened yet.
or how about we talk about the whole shitshow that is season two, where trish continuously tries to manipulate jess every step of the way ?? jess doesn’t want to dig up her past because she’s finally in a place where she’s content with it and doesn’t want to unearth trauma ?? bring her her family’s ashes !! not even going to cover how incredibly fucked up forcing a recovered addict (malcolm) to take drugs and using him for sex and to get closer to jess is. that and . . . trish literally killed jess’ mom. shot her while jess was watching, in the only place of her childhood which had been, to that point, a safe space and a happy memory.
trish doesn’t care about how jess feels. she lives vicariously through jess, and when she refuses to do something, she lashes at her and tries to manipulate her into doing what she wants. and this, anon, is why i fucking hate tr*shica.
