when i say that i am AT ALL TIMES trying to be the easiest customer a service worker has all day, i mean i am so unwilling to cause fuss or trouble that the hostess at the restaurant misheard me give my name bc it was loud, said something close to my name that's a shortened version, and i was fully prepared to just have a different name for the evening bc i didn't want to correct her bc she said it so confidently and i didn't want to make her feel bad

she saw my brief hesitation and was like "[name], right?" and i fully said, "oh [not my name] is fine," and this woman just went, "i mean i wanna call you by your actual name"
