She was impossibly uncomfortable, and even pulling on her boots left her breathless. She was determined, though, so she wrapped herself up and snuck out of the bedroom through the side door. At least, she tried to.

“Hey! Where are you goin’?!”

She rolled her eyes at her husband’s concern. “For a walk. I’ll be back soon.”

“Me too, Mama!” Austin insisted as Teddy lifted him into the air, out of Autumn’s reach.

“Not now, baby. Daddy’s gonna put you to bed.”

“Have you got your phone, at least?” Teddy fretted.

“Yup,” she nodded. “See you later.”
