what does destiel rights mean?
It means Destiel has rights ;P
Aka Dean/Cas finally had some action – RAW FANFIC ANGST that finally pushes their story, their conflict (aka festering tension that got worse and worse since 14x19), forward, front and center (I never thought I’d see this day), with a sweet-as-hell reunion in place (in other words, what else can possibly compel Cas to return to Dean after all of that?!)
Nonnie, last night was, again, one of the most blatant romantically-framed scripted breakups I’ve ever seen onscreen – despite undergoing several revisions according to Bobo – right up there with tropes, tropes and more tropes!!!
Our hearts were, like Ketch (RIP, good sir, he chose to redeem himself), ripped out of our chests. We bled out last night.
Most of all, Dean bled. He bled inside as soon as he said That Shitty Thing to Cas…as soon as Cas made the choice to turn his back on Dean and actually walk away.
Our sad boy almost broke, here. He swallowed. He barely held it together, detached from the situation/in denial while trying to suppress his heartbreaking vulnerability with anger.
The thing is, guys, THAT SHITTY THING Dean said was unforgivable. Despicable. Dean was totally aware of it, but he still said it, since all the feelings he locked up inside for so long – over Mary’s death, over Jack’s death, over Cas’ death – in the name of Apocalypse Duty bubbled to the surface uncontrollably, and upon the revelation that Chuck was tugging the puppet strings of their lives, Dean responded the only way he knew how: I’m gonna hurt the only person left who loves me, because HEY, NONE OF THIS IS REAL, AND I DON’T BELIEVE YOU WHEN YOU SAY OUR LIVES – OUR RELATIONSHIP – AIN’T A LIE, AND I’M TOO SCARED OF THE POSSIBILITY THAT MY LOVE FOR YOU ISN’T REAL, THAT WHAT WE DID TOGETHER, CONQUERED TOGETHER ISN’T REAL, AND I’M SO FUCKED UP THAT I LET THE DARKEST PART OF ME THAT’S LEFT, THE LAST REMNANT OF MY TOXIC-MASC DAD, TAKE OVER BY PUSHING YOU AWAY, and goddamn Cas, I love you so much, but I’m a bad person, and I never used my WORDS–
*needle scratch*
Even though Chuck may not have been directly responsible for Dean and Cas’ scathing fight, the circumstances he put them in still influenced what happened, and Chuck WANTS to break TFW. (The remaining piece of toxic father-figure archetypal masculinity within Dean, in meta-essence, is hindering his ability to 100% become A Better Man, A Better Best Friend, A Better Husband. It fits. Bless Bobo!!)
The real fight, the true fight, at the emotive interpersonal core, seems to be Dean and Cas’ relationship. I’m dead. It’s in complete tatters right now, irreparable, and I still can’t believe the narrative’s legitimately reached this point –> severed their 11-year Profound Bond.
CAS LEFT DEAN WINCHESTER, after everything they’ve been through (LOOK AT HIM! HE’S CRUSHED! 😭). Dean painted himself into his own corner, pointedly wallowing in the unbelievable loss that he’s just witnessed, because let me repeat: Cas is ALIVE and consciously chose not to be with him. Before Cas walks up those stairs — during the painful interludes between That Shitty Thing being said and “moving on”, Dean yearned, struggled, couldn’t say it at all:
This bodes so well, SO well for the direction they’re heading –> RECONCILIATION that’s GENUINE ENOUGH for Cas to return to him. What can Dean do to give Cas the initiative to come back? (It’s gotta be a GOOD rationale — Bobo & Co have passed the point of no return, with the simplest Occam’s Razor: Dean telling Cas he LOVES him, not as a brother but as a lover, “without all the whistles and bells”, as someone who behaves on his own volition). They have to fight for their relationship, and time apart will help them GROW a final time, grow all the way, REALIZE, RECAPITULATE a final time what’s important to them…what they WANT: each other.
And it’s only episode 3.
I dare to be a dancing clown!!!
