Dean carried Cas' body to the cabin.
Alone.
Dean prepared Cas' body for the Hunter's Funeral.
Alone.
Dean lifted Cas' body onto the pyre.
Alone.
Dean collected Cas' ashes.
Alone.
Dean spread Cas' ashes by the Windmill.
Alone.
Because Cas was DEAN'S.
He did all that and people still say he didn't love Cas back.
Dean's face whenever someone flirts with his angel
absolutely insane reaction to that revelation there dean
kind of crazy i thought it wouldn't look as bad when i put gifs 2 & 3 back together again but nope actually he looks even more upset somehow
"the last night of filming SPN wasn't supposed to be my last night of filming" once more for the people in the back [x]
Hello! I have watched the show for 15 years since the very first episode aired on WB and I was hooked. I was always a Dean Girl until Cas' entrance, and he has meant so much to me over the years because I see a lot of myself in Cas (strict religious upbringing, ace/demisexual, had to learn how to let myself express emotions). I have lurked near-daily for a while and I want to thank you for your lovely blog! It has helped me through some tough times to have posts to look forward to. (1/4)
Hi hi nonnie đ©· sadly it seems like the rest of your messages didnât go through!
But awww, youâre really so sweet! Thank YOU for supporting me and my ramblings, truly. This made my day đ Was clearing out my inbox and had to respond xox
Iâm also a Dean girl, and Cas takes up a lot of my heart (by proxy too hehe) since S4. Regardless of the things we got at the end of the series, thereâs never any denying that the good SPN things will always prevail, and DeanCas will always be one of them. No tv show can ever replicate the richness, the characteristic complexity, the sheer emotion of their love story over 15 YEARS, imho đ
There is only one reason Dean would be rearranging himself like that and hiding his crotch.
Yet again Dean trying, and failing, to hide his sexuality.
For those who are unconvinced, please see the gif below.
Same reaction to a woman he found hot. Checking her out and rearranging himself to hide his crotch. The facial expression is almost identical too.

#No but why is he looking like that #why is that classified as âlooking too much into itâ??? #Iâm not looking too deep into it #HE IS

Dean didn't reciprocate is such a funny take because what's all this then???????
Sam is organising some of their archived items one day, and tries on the Holy Fire glasses just as Castiel walks into the room. He tries not to freak out because now he can see that Cas is surrounded by floating, glowing eyes.
Sam takes the glasses off. Normal regular Cas.
Puts them back on. Eyes everywhere.
Cas looks over and sees Sam's strange expression, not knowing the glasses he's wearing have been treated with Holy Fire, and asks if he's okay.
Sam fumbles his way through a "Yeah- I'm uh- I'm fine."
While they're talking Sam notices that actually, only a handful of the eyes floating around Cas are open, looking at him, while the rest are closed.
But then Dean walks into the room.
Instantly all of Cas's glowing eyes snap open and follow his movement through the room. "Hey Sam, hey Cas," Dean greets, unaware of the eyes watching him.
"Hello, Dean," Cas replies, all the eyes squinting closed like a happy cat.
Sam watches with interest. "Cas?" he says.
Cas's physical body turns to him, but only a few of the eyes leave Dean. "Yes, Sam?"
"Nothing."
The eyes all return to Dean before Cas even finishes saying, "If you're sure."
..........Sam is unsurprised.
Made a quick doodle of this
@rogue-translator reblogged your post âEric Kripke: Iâm pitching a show about AmericanâŠâ
#i saw an interesting idea that while the show was supposed to be about sam #dean was a more interesting character and jensen was a better actor #so obvs sam took a back seat #but the finale was basically trying to shoehorn sam back into the lead position #like he was originally supposed to be #and it justâŠ. didnât work #supernatural #spn
First of all kudos for the urlâŠ
The idea was that the story was ~about the two brothers~, which I suppose would share screentime in a fairly balanced manner, but Sam was intended to the the point-of-view character, the âfilterâ we would experience the story through.
It makes sense on paper: Sam is a character in a situation we can relate to (college student living a regular life), whom something happens to we can sympathize with (he loses his girlfriend tragically) and who - while he knows about that world having grown up in it - has distanced himself from the world of the supernatural, so we, the audience, who enter into that world for the first time as we watch the show, âenterâ that world together with Sam as he re-enters it.
Dean, on the other hand, is a character whoâs always been in that world, so he canât be our âguideâ into entering it. He also has a lifestyle we canât really relate to, because the audience in front of the tv is obviously closer to the college guy than the rebellious nomadic monster-killer. He doesnât have attachments other than to this mysterious missing dad, and is a generally mysterious person himself, so Dean is sort of an object to discover and decode rather than a subject to identify with.
Enter Jensen Ackles and Dean is suddenly a magnetic character who exudes a vulnerability that people can, indeed, relate to.
Enter Sera Gamble, Raelle Tucker, and John Shiban (Iâd say the authors who most explored Dean in s1) and they do write Dean in a way thatâs interesting and touching.
(Sera Gamble is a weird case, because she can do utter disasters but also write really good things, one could argue sheâs the one person who most drove Supernatural from Kripkeâs original idea to what we actually got, sheâs the one who most drove the story away from âurban legendsâ to religious themes & co, and while I havenât seen the Magicians I know that sheâs both the person who built a very interesting story and destroyed it.)
Dean and Jensen have carried the show all along both because Dean ended up a more compelling character and also because Dean has the strongest (narratively and emotionally) relationships. All the most interesting side characters have relationships with Dean, with a few exceptions (and again if a side character has a relationship with Sam, their exchanges with Dean are still more interesting, just think of Ruby!).
Crowley was supposed to be âassociatedâ to Sam in the Carver era, to balance Deanâs association to Cas (s7 ends with Crowley making a cruel speech to Sam, the scene in the church where Sam almost turns Crowley human, Rowena using Sam to kill CrowleyâŠ) but Crowley ends up having a massive arc with Dean and a love triangle with Dean and Cas, which is why the Carver era is so unbalanced towards Dean XD (Then the writers did their best to make Rowena a âSam characterâ, but at that point she was quite her own character with her story with Crowley and all, so it wasnât really a narrative-supporting arc.)
Mary was both Deanâs and Samâs mother, but her relationship is with Dean. Jack was presumably supposed to be associated to Sam more, too, with Sam taking him under his wing while Cas is dead and Dean blames Jack for it, but the relationship between Dean and Jack is the one that immediately stands out and gets developed.
One of the most unrealistic thing about the show is having all the side characters talk about âSamandDeanâ âthe Winchestersâ all the time when what they actually mean is âDean and his brotherâ, if not just âDeanâ at all.
what was the reason?
Things that got deleted or never aired
âThe writers wrote this DeanCas scene / this queer Dean moment and then still called us delusional.â
No, they didnât. But Iâm sure as fuck calling you delusional right now for repeating this completely fabricated bullshit for the past decade without once stopping to wonder âbut wait, which writer said that and when?â
Because if any of you had ever bothered to do that youâd realize that not a single one of the 52 credited writers of spn has EVER said anything remotely close to this.
Several writers have, in fact, said the oppositeâand feel free to do your own homework on that, because the receipts are out there, and maybe if you dig them up yourselves you might actually pay attentionâbut people have been projecting and playing fandom telephone for so long that baseless bronly quotes have been falsely attributed to the people who were actively and deliberately writing this stuff into the bones of the show for years, and who eventually made it as canon as they possibly could within the confines of the networkâs grip on a dinosaur Bush-era TV show.
I swear this take was exhausting to see continually crop up when the show was still airing, and Iâve gotta say itâs even more exhausting now because THE WRITERS UNEQUIVOCALLY WROTE IT INTO THE TEXT OF THE SHOW. AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT ONCE SAID THAT WE WERE DELUSIONAL FOR SEEING WHAT THEY PUT THERE.
For crying out loud the core emotional arc of the final goddamn season was Dean and Castielâs relationship.
Castiel flat out confessed his romantic love for Dean in a scene that was written first thing in the season, that was built toward with deliberate intent for multiple years. Through that confession the show retroactively confirmed that all of the subtext and parallels and on and on that meta writers had been pointing out for years was in fact exactly what we thought it was.
So unless you think that somehow we managed to be spot-on correct about everything on Casâ side but forgot how to interpret layers of text on Deanâs side, you should be able to understand that we were given two equations and one answer.
1 + 1 = 2 is what they gave us for Castiel.
1 + 1 = ? is what they gave us for Dean.
If you think they did it by accident youâre kidding yourself. If you think they left Deanâs answer as a question mark for some malicious reason youâre kidding yourself. If you think that âthe writersâ think weâre deluded for reading into all the layers the deliberately included in the story then youâre kidding yourself.
Quit uncritically spreading anti trash around like itâs truth.
#thank you!!!! #the writers wrote the destiel and have not at any point judged destiel shippers for seeing it #THEY WANTED IT TO BE NOTICED #i have pointed out before there are zero receipts on the writers mocking destiel shippers #and they have indicated in every way they can within a restrictive system that destiel is intended to be real and canon #quit dumping on queer authors who were trying to get the destiel in there despite the restrictive system #this is happening all over Hollywood #do people never read about this about whatâs happening #creatives trying to put more LGBTQ inclusion in and corporate yanks it back (via @dotthings)
(â @bookdork1 )
hi, I always remember following you during spn and I loved all your meta. Sad to know the show went the way it did when Destiel literally went canon too :(((( i wanted to ask how youâre doing. you May not be in the fandom anymore but will you ever go back to posting Destiel again? many thanks
Aw hi anon đ thanks so much â my early 20s pumped out way too much meta, some of it imo badly written & unnecessary :p but Iâll always love reading into things!! My late 20s consists of me living my life since I left spn fandom in the last few years: lots of side hobbies, some major life events (still canât believe iâm an aunt), new interests, vacations, working super hard, seeing friends/fam, etc lol
looking back now that iâm a bit olderâŠthe show still gives me a LOT of mixed feelings~ Deancas remains, to me, one of the greatest love stories ever told, but also one of the saddest with how they turned out, as you said :c a lot of pain and bitterness swirls inside me when i think about them, so I wonât post anything destiel for a long time in the future unless iâm in the mood, or unless anything in spn universe crops up that is intriguing enough for me to deep dive into meta again đ„ș Iâll probs only RT stuff.
i donât and never will regret all the great memories and spn friends I made xox i still talk to some of them from time to time~
Okay so I'm not trying to sound rude or accusing, this is curiosity, but how does Dean mentioning the threesome he had with two GIRLS at the start of Season 3 point to Bi!Dean?
Oh nonnieâwelcome to the Classic Bi!Dean rabbit hole! *rubs hands together* Letâs briefly revisit the Doublemint twins, shall we?
Dean never specified that he was with two girls. He referred to them as twins (see below), and on a knee-jerk surface reading level the heteronormative assumption that they were chicks stands.
If you rewatch, we only see one twin through the curtains (*coughs at Deanâs perky nips but anyway*).
Câmon. TPTB has no problem explicitly showing Deanâs interactions with women, so this begs the key question: where the heck is the 2nd female twin?Â
Weird, right? Afterwards Sam walks in on Deanâs YOLO-Iâm-Going-to-Hell threesome and reacts as if heâs never caught his broâ-whom he practically lives with close quarters everydayâ-boning chicks. SAM: Let me see your knife.DEAN: What for?SAM: So I can gouge my eyes out.DEAN: Itâs a beautiful, natural act, Sam. SAM: Itâs a part of you I never wanted to see, Dean.DEAN: *chuckles* Hey, I appreciate you giving me a little quality time with the Doublemint twins.
Like lmao, do you seriously expect me to believe that Dean getting it on solely with a girl set off Samâs dramatics? That heterosexual sex was âa part of you I never wanted to seeâ? When Dean tells Sam âitâs a beautiful, natural act,â heâs pretty blase. At the same time he was inwardly wary of how little bro Sammy would take this discovery. Heterosexual sex is conventionally ânaturalâ. We all know this. Society dictates this. If Dean was having het sex, why did he feel the need to defend what Sam saw in the motel room?
I wanna delve into the best parts (SPOILER: Dean in 13x16) except itâs 8pm over here and my headacheâs starting to turn sour so lâll drop a few SUNNY GOLDEN metas that touch upon all this x x (and the Doublemint Twins/Dynasty Threesome parallel which is absolutely self-explanatory).
Dean is as bi as the day is long ;D
This is one of the funniest posts Iâve seen in my entire life
bruh @sambrosiac @ihatedean this post is *years* old and iâve moved on from this sad end-trash show lol log off and get a life đ
*and yall wincest shippers/bibros will always be absolute weird-ass freaks shipping blood brothers*
