okay i threatened to do this earlier this week but lets actually go for it here’s why you should vote for isaac johnson this week for the blaseball hall of fame:

- OG firefighter, now on the miami dale -has the second highest defense in the league -has the highest anticap -has a career OBP of 0.283 and OPS of 0.76 -stole 100 bases in s24 in 79 games -helped the Dale beat the record for bases stolen in one game (at 35) -has something like the 8th longest streak of consecutive games played in the league? -when he joined the dale, Caleb Novak's ERA went from 12.57 to 5.45 and Howell Rocha's went from 4.16 to 1.34 -is literal proof that defense is real -literally in such romantic of a relationship that his husband (caleb alvarado) nightshifted out in a game against the dale at the beginning of s24 so they could see each other -we like ike!!! -siphon extraordinaire  -sip sip, bitches

The Siphon tipped his head back down. He had an elastic red mask covering the top half of his face, but the hard set of his mouth was enough to get the point across. “Why’d you do that?”

Caleb was on the verge of panic. “I don’t know.”

(Caleb Alvarado is the heir apparent to Chicago’s best-known crime fighting family. Or, maybe they were - they just ran off with a supervillain.)

4. kiss to the side of the head

The Siesta drags inexorably onward. Isaac would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it a little bit, though: having enough time to go to his cousin's wedding, to get some good honest work done, to do things with his hands.

So Isaac wakes up every morning, goes on a run, says hi to everyone who recognizes him (more and more people every day!), comes home and helps Caleb make breakfast for all the sleepy Firefighters trickling down from upstairs, and dinner for whoever was On Shift overnight.

Isaac hits the start button on the normal coffee machine, and then cleans the recycling he picked up on his run. He fills Justice's coffee machine, closes the lid and presses Heat, and replaces the sticky note on it that explicitly warns everyone who is not Justice that the coffee machine "DOES NOT PRODUCE 'HOT NICE SPICY HONEY'. THIS IS MOLTEN GLASS, DECLAN AND EDRIC". Task complete, he starts on slicing the bread, thick and crusty and somehow still warm.

Caleb comes in from the garden with a basket full of tomatoes of different varieties and a handful of basil leaves. "Bruschetta and fried eggs for breakfast?" they suggest.

"Sounds delicious," Isaac says, and Caleb sets the tomatoes in the sink to wash. Isaac leans over to kiss their temple and relishes the smile they direct down at their harvest.

Caleb hums. "You started coffee?" they ask.

"Yeah, Justice's too," Isaac says. "You want some?"

Caleb picks up one of the tomatoes and considers it, expression serious. It's an heirloom variety, beautiful carmine streaked with purple at the crown. "I want to try the glass," they tell the tomato.

"Babe! Not you too," Isaac cries, dismayed. "I'm giving you regular coffee. Do not drink the glass."

Caleb sighs, put-upon. "Fine," they say, hugging Isaac from behind as he takes down a mug from the cabinet, propping their chin on his shoulder. "As long as you're making it for me."

"For you, anything," Isaac says, and means it.
